During the launch of the Honor 9X, the Huawei sub-brand has also introduced the Honor Sport Pro in Malaysia. At first glance, it looks somewhat similar to the Huawei Freelance but this Bluetooth earphones use an EarPods-like earbud design and it’s priced more affordably at RM299.

The Honor Sport Pro is a neckband-type wireless earphones and it is offered in three colours – Phantom Red, Phantom Grey and Phantom Blue. It features 13mm drivers and the earbuds are magnetic which allows you to snap them together to put it on sleep mode. It is also smart enough to reconnect when you pull them apart.

Similar to the Huawei version, the Sport Pro boasts up to 18 hours of music playback on a single charge. If you need to charge the earphones, you can detach the three-button control panel to reveal a rather convenient USB-C head. A quick 5-minute charge is rated to provide up to 4 hours of music playback. If you’re using an Honor smartphone, it can support quick pairing by simply plugging it into your phone.

During the presentation, Honor claims that the Sport Pro is great for gaming with its ultra-low latency of 86ms. It’s not as low as Razer’s Hammerhead but it is significantly lower than Apple’s AirPods and BeatsX. Since it has “Sport” in the name, the earphones are also splashproof with a rating of IPX5.

The box also contains 6 pairs of ear tips for better fitting and a charging cable. The Honor Sport Pro will be on sale starting 28 November 2019. If you’re pre-order the Honor 9X, there’s also a promo where you could get the Honor Sport Pro for only RM0.99.

For those who prefer something more compact, the Honor FlyPods Lite is currently going for RM279.
