As teased earlier, Vivo has unveiled its latest quick charging technology at MWC Shanghai. This is the first smartphone charger technology to deliver 120W output, which is even higher than Xiaomi’s 100W Super Charge Turbo technology.

According to Vivo, Super FlashCharge features a new charge pump technology that uses a customised USB Type-C cable and travel charger. The charging adapter has a maximum output rating of 20V/6A.

Based on their lab tests, it takes just 5 minutes to charge a smartphone with a 4,000mAh battery from 0-50% and it can fully charge the device in just 13 minutes. For improved levels of safety, the charger has a two-level protection IC and an MCU controller that can monitor the status of the battery and dynamically adjust the power output in real time. So far there’s no mention of its commercial availability.
