Vivo has a sub-RM1,000 smartphone with three cameras and a 5,000mAh battery

If you’re looking for a budget smartphone with versatile cameras, the Vivo Y17 could be the device worth considering. Priced at RM999, the Vivo Y17 offers a triple-camera setup and it even comes with a large 5,000mAh battery.

The device comes with a 6.35″ Halo FullView display that comes with a V-shaped notch at the top. The LCD panel pushes a HD+ resolution of 1544×720 pixels and has a screen to body ratio of 89%. The Y17 is running on a MediaTek Helio P35 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

For taking photos, the Y17 has a 13MP f/2.2 main camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. Meanwhile, the front gets a 20MP f/2.0 selfie shooter that’s placed on the notch.

Powering the Y17 is a huge 5,000mAh battery that charges via microUSB. Despite being a budget device, it also supports Vivo’s Dual-Engine Fast Charging technology. Out of the box, the device runs on FunTouch OS 9 that’s based on Android 9.0 Pie.

According to the spec-sheet, the device supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, as well as Bluetooth 5.0. The Y17 can be yours in either Mineral Blue and Mystic Purple.

The Vivo Y17 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia via Vivo’s online store as well as Lazada and Shopee. As a pre-order offer, they are bundling additional freebies which include a bluetooth speaker.
