Huawei plans to include the Huawei Backup as part of its free bundle offer for the soon to be released P30 in Malaysia.

Available in China for 699RMB (about RM425), the Backup consists of a 1TB external hard drive that can be used to automatically or manually backup data on your smartphone via USB-C

The device also doubles up as a pass-through charger for a 5V2A, 9V2A Huawei fast charge, or a 5V4.5A Huawei super fast charge adapter.

The device backs up photos, videos, documents, and apps without the need to install any apps.

March 26 launch date

Huawei is scheduled to reveal the P30 range of devices at a launch event in Paris on March 26. As far as we can tell, there will be two devices in the line-up, the P30 and the P30 Pro.

Rumours indicate the P30 Pro will get a curved FullView display with a U-shaped notched that houses a selfie camera. The design approach for the back of the device appears to be simillar to the P20 Pro.

The device is expected to feature a triple-camera setup complete with Huawei’s signature optics co-developed with Leica. Leaked images show a new lossless zoom lens incorporating a periscope mechanism that can deliver close to 8x optical zoom.
