Today, Vivo Malaysia has finally taken the wraps off its anticipated selfie-centric camera smartphones, the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro. Both of these devices feature a large edge-to-edge display with thin bezels and if you are not a fan of notched displays, both devices come with a pop-up selfie camera.

Vivo V15 Pro

Among the two, the V15 Pro has better hardware. It gets a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 675 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that’s expandable via a microSD card. Keeping the lights on is a 3,700mAh battery that charges via microUSB. It also supports Vivo’s “dual-engine” fast charge.

In terms of camera, the V15 Pro gets a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 5MP sensor for depth effects. For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera that lifts up via a motorised mechanism.

Vivo V15

For those who are looking for something more affordable, the V15 is a cheaper alternative. Obviously, there will be some sacrifices in hardware department.

Instead of a Super AMOLED panel like the V15 Pro, the V15 settles for a larger 6.53″ LCD display that pushes Full HD+ resolution. Besides that, it also runs on a MediaTek Helio P70 processor alongside 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Powering the device is a larger 4,000mAh battery that also supports Vivo’s “dual-engine” fast charge.

For imaging, the device still comes with a triple-camera setup but it is a step below with a 12MP main camera. It still gets an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5MP camera for depth of field. For selfies, it still retains the same elevating 32MP front-camera. Unlike the V15 Pro, the cheaper V15 gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Pricing and availability

The Vivo V15 Pro is priced at RM1,799 and it is available in 2 colours – Topaz Blue and Coral Red. Pre-orders are now available until 1 March 2019 at their roadshows, Vivo Concept Stores, authorised dealers and partners.

On 2nd March 2019, Vivo is having a V15 Pro Superday sale at Sunway Pyramid (Blue Concourse) where early bird customers can walk away with a DJI Tello drone. The device is also available on Digi’s Phone Freedom 365 program.

For the more affordable V15 device, Vivo has yet to provide details of its pricing and availability.
