Apart from the iPhone XS and iPhone XR, the latest Apple Watch Series 4 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia starting this Friday, 19 October 2018. This is the latest Apple Watch series that offers a larger display and it can get ECG (electrocardiogram) reading from your wrist.

The 40mm Apple Watch Series 4 is priced at RM1,749 while the larger 44mm version is priced at RM1,899. The standard watch comes with an aluminium case with sport or sport loop bands. This is the same pricing as well for the Apple Watch Nike+ Edition.

For Malaysia, we are getting the non-cellular version and it comes with GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity built-in. There’s also a more premium stainless steel version but that’s only available for the cellular variant which is only available at selected countries.

For 2018, the Apple Watch Series 4 gets a larger display area which stretches almost edge to edge, in comparison to the previous gen models. While the overall design is quite similar to its predecessor, the new watch is slightly thinner and it comes with a newer 64-bit dual-core S4 processor. The Digital Crown is now improved with haptic feedback which give you a sense of friction as you turn the crown.

Apple has also improved its heart rate tracking capabilities with a new second generation optical heart rate sensor. The Watch is also capable of taking ECG readings and it will alert you when there’s irregular heart rhythms. With its new gyroscope, it can also detect a potential fall and it will automatically reach out to your emergency contacts if you fail to respond after a fall is detected.

As usual, the Apple Watch Series 4 is also swim proof as it is water resistant up to 50 metres deep. A full charge is rated to provide up to 18 hours of battery life, just like its predecessors. You can learn more about the Apple Watch Series 4 in our announcement post.

If you’re interested, you can check out the Apple Watch Series 4 page on Apple Malaysia’s website. Stocks are expected to be available the following Friday.
