If you’re looking for a new Android tablet from Samsung, their latest Galaxy Tab A for 2018 is now available in Malaysia. This is their “affordable” multimedia tablet that’s designed for the family.

According to retailer DirectD, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ (2018) is officially priced at RM1,699 and it’s available in both Black and Grey colour options.

This is a Samsung Malaysia unit and the tablet comes with 4G LTE connectivity. According to DirectD, the tablet can support voice calls.

To recap, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ comes with a Full HD TFT LCD display that pushes a resolution of 1920×1200 in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it runs on a rather entry-level Snapdragon 450 processor that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. Onboard, it has 32GB of storage which can support microSD card expansion of up to 400GB.

Since it’s designed for the family, you can create separate login accounts with its Multi User Mode. Parents can also limit their children’s screen time with its built-in Kids Mode. For an immersive audio playback, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has four speakers that support Dolby Atmos audio enhancement. In case you’re wondering, it still retains a 3.5mm audio jack.

For imaging, the tablet comes with an 8MP main camera while the front comes with a 5MP shooter that you can use for video calls. Powering the device is a rather large 7,300mAh battery which charges via USB-C. A full charge can be completed in 200 minutes using a Fast Charging brick and it is rated to last up to 15 hours of video playback.

Would you get the Galaxy Tab A 2018 or the Huawei MediaPad M5 series? Or would you fork out more cash for an iPad Pro? Let us know in the comments below.
