The ASUS ZenFone 5 gets an iPhone X-like camera bump

ASUS will be announcing its new ZenFone 5 (2018) lineup at Barcelona at the end of this month. If you want to know how it looks like, the manual for one of its models has apparently leaked and it gives a clear illustration of all sides of the device.

According to WinFuture, the images you’re seeing here is for the ASUS X00PD model. This appears to be an entry-level device that comes with a 5.7″ 18:9 display. The front looks quite similar to the recently announced ZenFone Max Plus as it comes with a thicker chin and forehead design.

What’s interesting is the placement of its dual-camera lens. Unlike its current models which are horizontally placed, the new one is placed vertically at the corner of the phone which is similar to the iPhone X. Since the device is quite tall, it’s expected to come with a larger battery capacity of at least 4,000mAh. It still uses micro USB for its charging port.

The full details of its hardware aren’t known yet but an early GeekBench database listing suggests that it would run on Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB of RAM. Out of the box, it is listed with Android 8.0 Oreo. This could be the smallest member of the new ZenFone 5 series and we expect more models to be revealed during MWC 2018.

When will the phone in Malaysia market and price range?

Who would buy phone with USB mini nowadays? It have been nearly 3 years since type c is used in mass

We need the “standard micro USB” which is used in many devices especially power banks.

Please no to USB-C which is as rare as Lightning when it initially came out.

Just because a few big Brand using USB-C doesn’t make it common. At least not now.

of course we need type c. type c can deliver more amp compared to micro usb. its time to change bro.

It looks great, that’s why other copying. Asus is a nearly bankcrupt company anyway, or else if samsung copy the design apple will sue them until pants off.

the great thing about this phone is the headphone jack.

Asus in malaysia is one of the worst support in term of asus service center and accessories

Hard pill to swallow, anything apple design have to follow cos it can sell better. I’m sure the Asus designers got their own designs they wanna use. But i guess the head of the design team has his/her instructions from the top or sales that is more important. So, end of the day, its just a copy of iphone design.

Hey look! my 6gb RAM iPhoneX lookalike Asus can outperform any iPhone X.
