Huawei has just announced a price cut for the Nova 2i in Malaysia. Originally launched at RM1,299, the selfie-centric smartphone is now going for RM1,099.

Apart from the price cut, they are also throwing additional freebies worth RM499. In conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, they are bundling a selfie stick, a Huawei Uring and a headset while stocks last.

Just recently, Huawei has also pushed a new software update which enables face unlocking on the Nova 2i. In addition, they have also added an AR lens feature which allows you to superimpose yourself in front of a different background. If you haven’t received the software update on your Nova 2i, you can check manually at Settings > System Update.

To refresh your memory, the Nova 2i comes with a 5.93″ Full HD+ display that offers an 18:9 FullView experience. Under the hood, it runs on a mid-range Kirin 659 processor with 4GB of RAM and it comes with 64GB of expandable storage.

The Nova 2i comes with a total of four cameras. The front gets a 13MP f/2.0 + 2MP f/2.4 combo, while the rear gets a 16MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 setup. Powering the Nova 2i is a 3,340mAh battery and it runs on Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.1 skin on top. It’s available in Graphite Black, Prestige Gold and Limited Edition Aurora Blue.

The new pricing will take effect starting this Saturday, 3rd February but you could already find some online retailers offering the device for as low as RM999.

Right a month after I bought mine. Well dem. Should’ve bundled along Hannah Delisha with my RM1299 purchase.

theres always a price cut after 3-6 months for android phones, u newbie a

It’s not necessary to call me a newbie. I’m a regular here too. Yes I know there’s always a price cut after a few months but can you understand joke dear anticlimactic “pro”?

Was thinking the same way hahaha…

Wow, good news for bargain hunters.

Not good for early adopters

Huawei drop price to fight off the redmi 5 , add rm300 can get 4gb ram 64rom plus better selfie camera.

Add, add, add… . Top up, top up, top up… .

RM300 is still real money with high value though. Ok, maybe for you RM300 is equal to RM3, then it is fine. But I don’t think you will buy it.

Add another 2K you can get a Note 8 …lol

good bargain for a mid ranger and everyone should consider grabbing one now at 1099.00 with freebies throw in.

Good move Huawei… Luckily I waited while making comparisons with a few other mid rangers-bundled with extra goodies, a good buy indeed…

Chissss….baru je 5 hari yg lepas..rite now dah trun harge?

Ahahha kann nyesal lak beli 31 jan aritu

Huawei is a scam. Cheat during Mate book sales. Boycott Huawei.

Wait for redmi note 5.

redmi note 5 pro when out?

Nexus 5

I just replaced my Redmi note 4 worth the 2i after a year. Xiaomi has s big battery but it started draining excessively few months ago and I think the last miui update is causing 30% overnight loss! Maybe too much cost cutting affecting the battery or bad OS. Taking about the OS, it's still on the same android version so it's not an update but a new launcher, ui, with more bloat wares. I'm wary of xiaomi phones. Their software is not good. They claimed miui9 is lightning fast but it's the battery draining that'd lightning fast.
