The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra is expected to be announced soon and it was recently spotted on the Malaysian SIRIM certification database. Now we get a clear look at Sony’s new mid-range phablet and it looks like the first Xperia to come with a dual-camera setup.

According to this latest leak photos, the Xperia XA2 Ultra will get dual-selfie cameras that’s assisted with a front LED flashlight. For the first time on a Sony Xperia, it even has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. On their flagship models, the fingerprint sensor is usually embedded on the power button that’s placed at the sides.

Despite the trend of going FullView/18:9 display, Sony is still sticking to its traditional “Edge to Edge” 16:9 display like its current Xperia XA1 Ultra.

As revealed by GeekBench, the Xperia XA2 Ultra will get a 6″ Full HD display and it will run on a Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Out of the box, it gets Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. With its dual-front camera setup, the Xperia XA2 Ultra will go head-on against Samsung’s Galaxy A8+ (2018). Is this the mid-range Sony phablet that you’ve been waiting for? Let us know in the comments down below.

Very ugly phone with a unSony fingerprint sensor placement on the rear.

Fingerprint sensor on rear is not suitable for Sony unless they want to incorporate 18:9 screen ratio instead of “edge to edge” 16:9.

Finally dual selfie camera. Sony always make the best selfie smartphone over a year.

A XA product without mediatek, finally

I rather have them use front cam with Ois rather than dual cam. even dual lens couldn't fix shaky hands

    Xclusive Xperience

XA1 ultra got OIS on the front camera but EIS on the rear camera. However, 16nm Mediatek P20 is being used on the XA1 Ultra instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon.

I hope we can get quad cameras, dual front and dual rear, with OIS and flash light capability.

Sony should embedded the fingerprint sensor on power button such like XA1 Plus. Forget about that “edge to edge” display. I despise fingerprint sensor on the rear very much compares to neither side nor front fingerprint scanner placement. Qualcomm Snapdragon is a must together with Hi-Res Audio for the stereo speakers.

I don’t mind about thick chin and forehead bezels if they’ll make it like the above mentioned.

small battery capacity(3500 mAh below) is the reason i say no to Sony.

Battery capacity does not necessarily translate for better endurance. Screen resolution, type n size also contribute to better endurance. Software optimization n efficient chip also important. In fact gsmarena battery endurance test rated xa1 plus 3400mah battery endurance significantly better than s8+ 3500mah. And xz1 compact 2700mah is on par with 5000mah Mi max 2. Battery capacity is just a number. Real life experience might beg to differ.
