Microsoft Malaysia Surface Pro 2017

UPDATE: Microsoft confirms that the new Surface Pro for 2017 will be officially available in Malaysia starting 15 August 2017.

The 5th generation Microsoft Surface Pro has finally arrived in Malaysia. This convertible 2-in-1 laptop was first announced a few months ago and you can now secure your unit online from as low as RM3,699.

The new Surface Pro models for 2017 are now running on Intel’s 7th generation processors ranging from Core m3 to the highest Core i7. Both the Core m3 and Core i5 models are now fan-less for a more silent operation.

The base model gets 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage and it goes all the way up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of storage. For Malaysia, your storage option maxes out at 512GB. In terms of ports, you get a headphone jack, a cover port, Surface Connector, a mini DisplayPort, microSD card slot and a full sized USB 3.0 Type-A. Nope, there’s no USB Type-C or Thunderbolt 3 port with the 2017 Surface Pro.

Any clue if Microsoft Malaysia will sell the new Surface laptop here aside from the new Surface pro 2017?

It will be a waste since it’s been getting rave tech reviews for its performance to price ratio relative to the current competition out there.

it's better to buy Apple Macbook Pro based on the pricing..

Shut up and take my money!

Had 3 SFP3 (2 unit’s keyboard no detection after 1 year) and bought another 3 SFP4 in May 2016. 1 unit luckily under warranty replace last year due to screen ghosting issues. And now another unit out if warranty period having also screen issues. What do you all think, with just 1 year warranty? Unless it’s 3 year warranty, if not look somewhere else. If u keep on detaching the keyboard, it will have detection issues.

RM3.7K for Core m3 and no keyboard. Good luck Microsoft. I go buy real laptop better.

In many countries, Microsoft removed the extended (2 yr) warranty options leaving buyers at risks without choice. I am not sure what prompted this – is it due to many false claims or their hardware isn’t really up to the mark?

Had an early Samsung Win convertible, the removable keyboard was also having connection issue even after a few months and even with very light use.

Sick of these manufacturers that show and advertise gloriously how their devices fit and lift your productivity and improve lifestyle but in fact, it made me fuming.

No more for the time being until they have iron-out engineering and reliability issues. Also in doubt those with > 180 degree hinges, good luck.

I paid 5k for my Surface 3 Pro. Never looked back. It's so easy to use. Looking forward to the Surface Pro 2017. I want an i7, this time.

Waste of time IMHO
