Six days to ASUS Eee Pad Transformer launch in Malaysia

Tablets, tablets and more tablets are coming to Malaysia. We are spoiled for choice.

Asus has put up a countdown page on their Facebook page counting down to the launch of the Eee Pad Transformer, and it’s less than six days till the other much anticipated Honeycomb tablet will be hitting Malaysia stores.

In conjunction with the launch, ASUS Malaysia is holding a contest from May 9 to May 30 where you can stand a chance to win an Eee Pad Transformer. All you need to do is to get 5 of your friends to “like” to ASUS Malaysia fan page. Hit up the source link for more details.

The Eee Pad Transformer comes with a 10.1″ IPS display with 10-finger multi-touch support. The Android Honeycomb device runs on Nvidia’s dual-core Tegra 2 processor with 1GB of RAM and a choice of 16GB or 32GB of on-board storage. Imaging comes in the form of a 5MP back camera and a 1.2MP front camera. There’s also a mini-HDMI out and a special keyboard dock that transforms the Eee Pad Transformer into a netbook of sorts. There is no 3G version for the Eee Pad Transformer.

Malaysia retail price is expected to be around RM1,500 and below RM2,000 with the keyboard included.

Will the Eee Pad Transformer revive ASUS to be a dominant player in the tablet market just like it was during the netbook days?
