RIM has just released a new video showcasing the capability of their new OS for BlackBerry dubbed the BlackBerry 6.
Unlike the previous video, this latest visual highlights some of the more prominent features of the BlackBerry 6 OS like Universal Search, enhanced media interface, integrated social feeds and a new BB messenger UI.
This represents a huge step in the right direction for BlackBerry who are looking to woo a younger, more trendy set into their camp, but the problem is. Whatever “new” features RIM is putting into the BlackBerry 6, iOS and Android are already doing and will probably do it better.
So if RIM is going to make people really consider BalckBerry as their next app purchase, they will have to come up with something really special. As it is, the BlackBerry 6 looks very much like the iOS and Android. Guess we’ll have to reserve our judgment until we try it out for ourselves.
BlackBerry’s main rival in this space will be Android and as BlackBerry devices move towards being a full touchscreen experience, the lack of a solid input interface like swype to replace the lack of a physical QWERTY might put off BlackBerry fans who often cite BlackBerry’s sturdy, tactile keyboard as one of the devices’ strongest point.
Look out for BlackBerry 6 to be released within this quarter though don’t expect all Blackberrys will be able to support the new OS.

Samsung puts the official word out that their flagship Galaxy S will be getting FroYo sometime early August. Samsung says users can expect UI features that are unique to Samsung like the TouchWiz 3.0 and Social Hub to make the jump to FroYo.
But before you jump for joy, make note that the update is for the Korean version of the Galaxy S which is slightly different from the international release.
Having said that, if a FroYo update for the Korean version of the Galaxy S is possible, it makes no sense at all for Samsung not to make FroYo available to the rest of the world as well, so don’t worry, it’ll be just a matter of time for the international version of the Galaxy S to get FroYo.
We can’t wait.

With its 4.3-inch screen, 1GHz processor, 8MP main camera and 1.3MP secondary forward facing camera, HDMI out and a hefty 512MB RAM along with WiMAX capabilities, the HTC EVO 4G is arguably the world’s most advanced Android powered smartphone.
Unfortunately, it’s only available at the US at the moment.
But that could all change based on the current speculation doing its rounds in the Android world.
It seems that HTC’s director of global PR, Eric Lin, has dropped some clues indicating that the HTC EVO 4G could be destined for markets outside the US sans WiMAX and is codenamed Ace.
But, as always, there’s two sides of the story. While one source said that the HTC codename Ace is indeed HTC EVO without WiMAX, another source speculates that the Ace is nothing more than Droid Incredible repackaged for the international markets.
And as you may have already know, the Droid Incredible is essentially a HTC Desire, which is, already available here anyway.
So the case for the EVO is looking promising but both sources can’t confirm which device will eventually become the currently being developed HTC Ace.
The good news is, we will all apparently find out in October.
So stay tuned to SoyaCincau.com for the latest.

If you’re reading this blog, chances are you have a Twitter account as well and what’s more, you probably have hundreds or thousands of followers tweeting loads of stuff on your timeline – most of the probably useless
Thing is, do you really need that many followers? Maybe not.
Introducing, ChumpDump, a Twitter friend management game that adds an element of fun in getting rid of the useless chumps you’re following on Twitter.
Still not sure how getting rid of “friends” on Twitter can be fun?
Here’s how ChumpDump works.
Every day in ChumpDump, you decide who gets dumped or saved in your friend list. ChumpDump picks a lottery winner at random — then provides you with the details you need to determine — is this friend really a chump?
The game works by rewarding those that weed out their feed. It digs through a month worth of tweets to see just how close you are with this so called friend you have — from there, you decide, do you save them, or dump them?
Apple has just released its latest ads for the iPhone 4 and it focuses specifically on FaceTime.
When we saw the first iPhone 4 commercial, it was like, wow! It was probably one of the best ads we’ve seen for a gadget.
While these just released set of four ads from Apple is probably not as good as the first one, it still manages to make us smile, we’re pretty sure you will too.
In a word, we like em’ all.
But as feel good as the commercials make you feel, it still doesn’t hide the fact that FaceTime only works iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 and you will need to make the call over a WiFi network.
Head on over to after the jump to see the full set.

So Maxis has announced it on twitter, the so called big announcement for today. It is not the iPhone 4 but it is actually a price slash on iPhone 3GS for its iPhone Special Mid Year Sale where you can get between RM200-RM600 discount over its original pricing.
This applies across the iValue 1,2,3 & 4 plans and iData 3 over 24 months. iPhone 3GS prices are unchanged for iData 1, 2 and Prepaid plans. Surprisingly only the 16GB and 32GB iPhone 3GS are on promotion and there’s no change for the iPhone 3G 8GB.
Compared to DiGi’s previous price slash which merely lowers the monthly subscription fee, Maxis slashed the actual price of the iPhones. This mid-year promotion is valid until 31st July 2010 which raised some questions. What happens after 31st July? It would be weird if iPhone prices are increased back to normal but it could mean something bigger. We may be wrong but could it be the iPhone 4 be announced by then together with the iPhone 3GS 8GB? We will find out more later.
More details on the iPhone 3GS plans by Maxis here.
(UPDATE 1923hrs 12072010) The word’s out, at the very least, the something “exciting” from Maxis has nothing to do with a tie-up with Sony Ericsson. But Sony Ericsson who tweeted this morning that they have something exciting to announce have yet to say anything. A new device launch could still be in the pipeline. Though, we’re wondering why is it taking Sony Ericsson so long.
Earlier, Maxis mentioned on Twitter that they will be making an “exciting” announcement today. With just that one tweet, the social media space went to work speculating on whether Maxis will officially announce the pre-order date for the iPhone 4.
We thought that a pre-order announcement from Maxis would be a bit too premature right now. Rather, a more ideal date would be sometime around 19 July – assuming that the iPhone 4 launch itself will be within the second week of August.
Turns out, Sony Ericsson via Twitter, has put out a tweet that is very similar to the one Maxis made.
As far as we know, Maxis is the only telco that’s currently offering Sony Ericsson phones with contract bundles. Namely the Xperia X10.
Could this big announcement that Maxis is making have to do with a new Sony Ericsson phone launch?
Possibly.
If it is indeed true, we’re looking at a possible X10 Mini or X10 Pro launch.
But then again, we could be completely wrong.
Who makes the coolest stuff in the world? Geeks do.
What’s even more amazing is that they do it at their spare time.
Take for example this geek here who managed to put together a system to control slot cars using a Google Nexus One.
Yeah, it’s not going to change the world anytime soon but it’s pretty funky we think.
Take a look at how he put it all together in a video after the jump.
Finding for parking spot is a bitch especially on the weekends which seems impossible. Now Google has introduced Open Spot, a service that helps people to find parking space by telling them that you’re leaving. To reward people who share, there’s even a karma points system that rewards those who share their parking info.
It is a pretty simple and nice app which certainly helps when it comes to weekend mad rush. However since it uses GPS, we doubt that it will work for shopping malls where car parks are mostly underground with no satellite reception. Being in Malaysia, most of us prefer not to park in open spaces due to our hot weather.
Another thing to note is that Open Spot is only available in the US, Canada and Netherlands with Android phones version 2.0 and above.

(UPDATE 1929hrs 12072010) Maxis made the announcement and sorry guys, it’s not what you think. Still no word on when the iPhone 4 will be here.
Maxis via tweeter today indicated that the telco will be announcing something exciting today.
Naturally, many of you, including us, are wondering if this impending announcement will have anything to do with the iPhone 4 coming to Malaysia soon.
We don’t know. It could be an announcement about the iPhone 4 or it could very well not be. So we’ll have wait for the official word from Maxis.
We predicted that iPhone 4 pre-orders will be open on Maxis sometime around 19 July, could this tweet mean that they are opening the pre-orders earlier? Let’s wait and see.
But if the recent DiGi revision in its own iPhone packages and the recent spate of announcements from Maxis upper management is anything to go by, this announcement could be the one many are waiting for.
Watch this space.
