Update: We’ve gotten additional information on the valuepack and added some of our thoughts on the new offering. All this after the jump.

Yes has finally revealed its valuepacks which existence we discovered earlier this week. There are two packs on offer, RM68 and RM150 which comes with preloaded data quota, free calls and SMS that comes with a validity of 30 days.

Yes to offer bundled valuepack for heavy users?

While checking our Yes February statement, we noticed something extra in their SelfCare. At the bottom of the Usage Summary, there’s a new section called valuepack and campuspack that shows the balance and expiry of voice, data and SMS. So far there isn’t any details on such valuepacks on the website but this looks like Yes is about to introduced bundled packages which could be good news for heavy users.

We reckon, it could be something similar to Hotlink’s Hot Tickets where they give out bundled SMS, voice with a certain validity in a single voucher. As mentioned before, Yes pricing of 3 sen per MB is affordable for casual users however it costs much more for heavy users especially for those using more than 6GB per month. The campuspack could be a cheaper student price equivalent catered for their Education Partner Programme.

This could be their preparation towards the availability of Yes Zoom home gateway, which normally incur more usage than mobile users. It would be interesting to see how low can they go cost per GB wise with these valuepacks.
