OK, Xiaomi‘s Mi MIX 2 stole the show yesterday. In an event that’s usually all about the Mi Note series, Xiaomi has a new champion in their high-end flagship phablet category. But, the new Mi Note 3 does share at least one common thing with the Mi MIX 2: It also has a change in mantra.
When it was launched in Malaysia, it was the most expensive Xiaomi device yet at RM2,499. Although it had great specs with a generous 128GB of storage, not many are willing to fork out that much money on a Xiaomi phablet.
For its successor, Xiaomi is making the Mi Note 3 a “Plus” alternative to the current Mi 6 while maintaining the same price tag. On top of that, they have also added something extra to pit it against the selfie kings like OPPO and vivo.
After revealing their Mi A1 smartphone earlier this week, Xiaomi will be announcing not one but two new models tomorrow at Beijing. The main highlight is the successor of its radically designed Mi Mix as shown above. It is probably the first flagship phone in recent times that started the whole all-screen bezel-less obsession.
Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and President, Lin Bin, had also recently revealed that a bigger Mi 6 will be making its debut at their upcoming event.
