U Mobile have been slashing its prepaid BlackBerry rates quite regularly. Not too long ago, they have reduced their daily BlackBerry daily subscription to RM0.88/day. Now they have also reduced their weekly and monthly subscription to RM5.50/week and RM19/month.
This is among the cheapest and the plans include additional data usage such as video streaming. As comparison, Tune Talk charges RM0.98/daily or RM28/monthly but their additional data usage is charged at 5sen/MB.

U Mobile has reduced its BlackBerry rates further for both prepaid and postpaid subscription. In the last revision few weeks back, U Mobile was offering:
Daily – RM1.50/day
Weekly – RM9/week
Monthly – RM40/month
Now they have made significant reductions and below is their latest BlackBerry Rates:
Daily – RM1.50/day
Weekly – RM8/week (Prepaid) / RM9/week (Postpaid)
Monthly – RM25/month
All three plans come with “Free Unlimited Data” with Fair Usage caps at 30MB/day, 300MB/week and 1GB/month.
With heavy competition from the likes of TuneTalk’s RM28/month BlackBerry BIS Prepaid plans, most telcos are forced to relook into their existing offering to stay competitive. A few weeks back, DiGi had introduced a monthly unlimited BlackBerry prepaid plan at RM25/month which comes with 500MB/day Fair Use Quota.
In the header, it is highlighted that the BlackBerry plans come with free calls but it wasn’t made clear in the BlackBerry section. From the looks of it, it should be based on top up for Prepaid customers.

U Mobile has revised its BlackBerry Plans which now offers Free Unlimited Data. When U Mobile’s BlackBerry plans and packages were revealed, it offered unlimited BIS service on daily, weekly and monthly basis with additional 5sen/MB charge for other data usage such as video streaming. The price for weekly has been reduced from RM10 to RM9 as well.
A week ago, U Mobile had introduced its Unlimited BIS + 5GB data plan at RM68. This begs a question whether long term monthly subscriber would go for its typical RM40 monthly plan or RM68 unlimited + 5GB since both comes with data with no exchange charge.
For the normal daily, weekly and monthly plans, the permitted “unlimited” usage quota is anyone’s guess as it wasn’t mentioned. It is likely that either the standard download speeds are lower than the RM68 plan or it comes with minimal quota before it gets throttled.
According to the FAQ, the Free “Unlimited” Data is capped at 30MB for daily, 300MB for weekly and 1GB for monthly. There will be no extra charge if you exceed but speeds will be reduced down to comply with FUP. So if your non-BlackBerry service data usage is below 1GB, the monthly RM40 option would be sufficient. For heavier usage, you can get 5GB data for just additional RM28 (RM68/month).
