In a surprise turn of events, Maxis is now re-offering the Samsung Galaxy S II on its bundled plan options. It goes for as low as RM1,099 with 24 months data add-on of 1.5GB or 3.0GB. For those that rather commit less for shorter period of time, it can be yours for RM1,499 with 12 months contract of 500MB data plan.
Surprisingly the data plan rates are still showing the old rates with 500MB plan at RM58/month which was recently revised.
With Maxis now re-offering Samsung devices, hopefully they would be bundling the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus as well. For more information, head over to Maxis Android page.
If you’re having something good, double it! That’s probably what Samsung is thinking as they have announced dual-sim versions of the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Pro. The models will carry the “DUOS” branding which Samsung’s dual sim range of devices.
For the Duos version of Galaxy S II, it is destined for China and it will support both GSM/CDMA2000 bands. On the hardware, it will feature a 4.52″ Super AMOLED Plus display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera, 16GB of storage and a massive 1,800mAh battery.
For the Galaxy Y and Y Pro version, it will be catering for emerging markets. It has pretty much the same specs as the single SIM version but the screen is slightly bigger at 3.15″. The Y Pro in the other hand is the QWERTY keyboard version which has yet to make an appearance in Malaysia. There’s no mention whether these duos model will make an appearance in Malaysia.
For those that carry 2 phones, would you consider having a smart phone with dual-sim capabilities? If dual-sim phones are not enough, take a look at the Quad-SIM phone instead.
So obviously the iPhone 4S won’t look pretty when dropped on the pavement. What about if it was compared with the Samsung Galaxy S II with its famed Gorilla glass? Watch the video to find out.

Last week, U Mobile has introduced a new series “other” postpaid plans which offers primarily data with a sprinkle of free calls and SMS – depending which plan you’re on. Now they have started offering phone bundling with the HTC Wildfire, HTC Desire S & Samsung Galaxy S II on their U28, U58 and U88 plans.
In terms of offer, with a 24 months contract of U88, you can get the Wildfire for RM663, the Desire S for RM1213 and the Galaxy S II for RM1613. The subsidy amount is very little for a 24 months contract. As comparison, the Galaxy S II is offered at RM1499 with 18 months contract of U Value prepaid of RM68/month.
Read our previous post on the new plans here to find out more. Alternatively, you might want to check out their bundling on their previous postpaid plans that offer voice, sms and voice.
For more details, head over to U Mobile bundling page.

A few days back, Samsung has slashed the popular Samsung Galaxy S II by RM200. As a result, Celcom and DiGi has revised its subsidised bundled pricing which offers it as low as RM998 on Celcom and RM1199 on DiGi. This is a reduction as much as RM210 on Celcom and RM150 on DiGi.
So far there’s no change from U Mobile’s offering of RM849 on U Premium contract, which is one of the cheapest offering we’ve seen to date. Also surprisingly Maxis, the first telco to offer the Galaxy S II has removed all traces of the device from their website.
For more information, check out the Samsung Galaxy S II page on Celcom & DiGi.

Finally U Mobile has released the full details for its Samsung Galaxy S II offer. As reported earlier, the Galaxy S II is offered as low as RM849 with 24 months contract of U Premium’s RM168/month plan.
While that option is quite heavy for some, there are other lower options which are surprisingly affordable ranging between RM999 to RM1499. The best part is the contract duration of only 18 months instead of 24.
For example, those that want the least commitment and cost of ownership, the Galaxy S II is offered at RM1499 on U Lite plan. The U Lite plan offers combined 300 minutes of calls, 200 SMS (within U Mobile and for other networks) and a rather generous 3GB worth of data for just RM68/month. That totals up to RM1,224 for subscription over 18 months and you get to enjoy RM875 subsidy for the phone. On other telcos, RM68/month only give you mobile internet without any calls/sms included.
Overall, these plans aren’t too bad at all and probably is the lowest ownership plan for the Galaxy S II. The only downside of course is the upfront payment which you would need to pay as much as 7 months in advance. That doesn’t necessary mean its a bad thing since you would be paying for subscription anyway.
For more info, head to U Mobile’s Samsung bundle page.
UPDATE: U Mobile Galaxy S II full plan details here.
As teased yesterday, U Mobile now offers the Samsung Galaxy S II. The starting price of RM849 is offered on U Mobile’s U Premium Plan with 24 months contract. As comparison, Maxis offers the Galaxy S II from RM1399, DiGi from RM1349 and Celcom from RM1208.

Not wanting to be left behind, U Mobile is also offering the Samsung Galaxy S II. Finally, the underdog telco has a flagship android device just like the other big 3 – Maxis, Celcom and DiGi. The discovery was found thanks to a tip off from an SMS sent by U Mobile.
According to the message, the Samsung Galaxy S II is offered from as low as RM849. To find out more, the message suggest visiting their U Mobile stores or their website. At point of posting, no details are available on u.com.my. Like the RM399 Samsung Galaxy Tab offer, we would expect the Galaxy S II to be tied with U Premium postpaid plan for 24 months.
We will share more details once we find out more.
Thanks to @azrirashid for sending this in!

UPDATE: Celcom Samsung Galaxy S II & Galaxy S Plus plans now official on Celcom website. Thanks to @synnnx for the update.
It appears that Celcom too is offering Samsung Galaxy S II, making it the 3rd telco to offer the anticipated Android device. We got this info via our tipster and we can’t confirm right now if it’s available at all Celcom outlets. We tried searching over at Celcom’s website but there are no details as well.
Based on the table above, the Galaxy S II is offered as low as RM1208 over 18 months contract with Celcom Exec 250. If RM250/month is too much, there are other options such as Celcom Exec 50 + mAdvance of RM118/month and Celcom Exec 50 + mBasic of RM88/month.
In addition to that, there’s also the Samsung Galaxy S Plus at the bottom of the table. According to GSM Arena, the Galaxy S Plus is a refresh of the original Galaxy S smart phone. What it offers is an upgraded 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T single Core processor and a larger 1650mAh battery. The rest of the specs remain unchanged and it also comes with a 4″ Super AMOLED screen like the original. On contract, it can be yours for as low as RM778/month with CelcomExec 250.
Looks like Celcom currently has the widest range of Samsung Galaxy S – Galaxy SL, Galaxy S Plus and Galaxy S II.
Thanks to @synnnx for the tip! Full plan details after the break

As hinted yesterday, Samsung Galaxy S II is finally available on DiGi.
It is offered at RM1599 for 12 months and RM1349 for 24 months contract with DG Smart Plan. As comparison, Maxis is offering the Galaxy S II at RM1599 for 12 months and RM1399 for 24 months with either 1.5GB/3.0GB data bundle. Surprisingly the Galaxy S II is more expensive than expected as the subsidy amount is less as compared to the HTC Sensation.
There’s a EPP Credit Card offer where the Galaxy S II can be yours from RM128.30/month for 24 months installment.
For the first 100 at their Berjaya Times Square & KLCC roadshows , you’ll get a free Bluetooth heatset worth RM149.
