The Galaxy Ace is arguably one of Samsung’s more popular Android devices offering great value for money that strikes a good balance between affordability and performance. Samsung’s got a great recipe for success with the Galaxy Ace and that is set to continue with the announcement of the Galaxy Ace Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus is the successor to Galaxy Ace, fronting a refreshed design and an uprated spec sheet that includes a slightly larger 3.65-inch HVGA 320×480 resolution display (3.5-inch on the original Galaxy Ace, resolution is the same) and a more current 1GHz single-core processor with 512MB RAM (800Mhz and 278MB RAM in original Galaxy Ace). The Ace Plus runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and there’s no word if it will receive an update to Ice Cream Sandwich.
No word on Malaysian availability either but we suspect the Ace Plus will be available here soon enough to replace the Galaxy Ace that’s close to being a year old now since it was launched in February last year. Expect the price of the Ace Plus to remain the same when it does get here. That’s about RM800 or less.
Here’s the full rundown of the vital specs:
1GHz single-core processor with 512MB RAM
3GB of internal memory, microSD card slot (up to 32GB) — original Galaxy Ace has 2GB of on board memory
7.2Mbps HSDPA — same with the original Galaxy Ace
5MP with LED flash (480p video at 30fps) – same with the original Galaxy Ace
1,300mAh battery – slightly smaller, the original Galaxy Ace came with 1,350mAh battery

We know a lot of people have been waiting for this one. Samsung Malaysia has announced that the white version of the Samsung Galaxy Note is now officially available in Malaysia.
As with the dark blue version, you get a blazing 1.4Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and an excellent 8MP camera in the white Galaxy Note. Essentially the specs remains unchanged at is the price which is currently RM2,299.
In addition to the white Galaxy Note, availability of the Galaxy S II (which has been available in Malaysia since September) and Galaxy Ace in white was also announced today.

When Samsung introduced its range of four new affordable Android devices early February this year we noted that the Samsung Galaxy Ace would very likely make its way to Malaysia.
Specifically, in our earlier post we said:
The Samsung Galaxy family will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress on February 14. No word on pricing or whether there will be availability here in Malaysia but if we know Samsung Malaysia then we know that at least one out of this four Galaxy phones will make it here. Our bet’s on the Galaxy Ace.
And so here it is the Galaxy Ace is now available in Malaysia for a RM1 under RM1,000. With a 800Mhz processor, Android 2.2 froyo, a 5MP camera and a 3.5-inch 320×480 screen along with a host of other useful features, it’s hard to recommend a more decently speced Android at this price point.
The only thing that baffled us is how the marketing people didn’t promote the Galaxy Ace as aggressively as we think they should. It’s a good phone with a good price, there’s really a lot to like.
Here’s hoping Samsung Mobile Malaysia would be proactive in promoting their mobile devices and not just focus on the big ticket items like the Nexus S. And when they do focus on the big ticket items, we hope they make sure its reasonably priced as well.
Head on to after the jump for the full specs of the Samsung Galaxy Ace.

You can now definitely say that there is a Samsung Galaxy phone for everyone at every price range. Just when we thought that the Galaxy line of mobile phones couldn’t get any bigger, Samsung unleashes not one, not two, but four new Galaxy devices for different segments of the booming smart phone market.
Samsung says the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Gio and Galaxy Mini “all offer a unique take on the smartphone experience, expanding the Android-powered Samsung GALAXY smartphone line-up to the broader consumer market.”

If these mid-range Galaxy devices are coming, expect to pay less than RM1,300.
