The Samsung Galaxy S II is currently enjoying its standing as the most desirable Android smart phone today. However more Android devices are expected to launched soon with higher resolution screens and faster processors. To stay ahead of the game, Samsung is already working on its next Galaxy S device and the purported specifications have been leaked from what appears to be an internal presentation.

According to the picture above, the upcoming Galaxy S III will be getting a dual-core 1.8GHz Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM and a 4.6″ Super AMOLED Plus HD Screen. The HD screen might be something similar to the Galaxy Note but with higher pixel density on a smaller 4.6″. In terms of camera, it is 12MP with f/2.3 aperture.

Like most rumours, it is far from the real deal at this early stage. Previously the Galaxy S II was rumoured to have a 720HD display and 2GHz processor which never materialised. However closer to launch, more realistic specs had began to appear. For the upcoming Galaxy S III, we expect to see something better than just a mere dual-core 1.8GHz processor.

DiGi has finally revealed the story behind the teaser of the pregnant lady with 2 apples. Nope, it is not the iPad 2 but rather an offer to buy a 2nd iPhone 4.

Basically DiGi now offers all new iDiGi subscribers to buy a 2nd iPhone 4 unit without contract from RM2290. In case you didn’t notice, RM2290 is actually the outright iPhone 4 price without any subsidies at all. This of course is nothing compelling as its previous iPhone 4 offer for existing iDiGi subscribers offered better pricing. During that time, they offered the iPhone 4 with RM300 off the normal price, making the 16GB version RM1990 after discount.

UPDATE (03082011): DiGi reveals offer for 2nd unit of iPhone 4 without contract.

UPDATE (07032011): DiGi posted teaser graphic on their Facebook Wall.

We got tipped by @jonrulezz with an image that shows an expectant person with 2 apples inside.

So what can it be? First thing on top of our minds is the iPad 2. Launching it on 8th March is impossible as Apple is only releasing it on 11th March 2011. If it is indeed the iPad 2, it might be an announcement that they are bringing in the iPad 2 for bundling in Malaysia which normally includes the typical Registration of Interest exercise.

Another possibility is that DiGi is doing another promo for the iPhone 4. Special price for 2 units of iPhone 4? It might be considering DiGi had similar teaser for iPhone 4 launch last September. That time they used 4 apples to represent iPhone 4.

Could it be a hoax altogether? Your guess is as good as ours.

Engadget claimed a trusted source sent them “internal renders” of HP/Palm’s upcoming webOS tablet. We were slightly skeptical looking at the thing. Turns out it might look different.

HP has just sent out a round of invites to the media to bring attention an “exciting webOS announcement” and it explicitly tells us that the renders that we saw on Engadget is not the latest maybe even not the actual final product.

The announcement date is pegged at February 9 and you can bet that we’ll have the latest right here on SoyaCincau.com. The question on our mind is, will the webOS tablet make it to Malaysia on HP’s shoulders? Would be interesting if it does.

What you’re looking at are pictures of how the HP/Palm webOS-based tablet may look like. If the trusted tipster that provided these internal renders to Engadget is to be…erm…trusted then you can expect two tablets to come out from HP. One is a 10-inch unit currently codenamed Topaz, that’s the one you see here, and the other is a 7-inch unit codenamed Opal.

The render reveal a front facia with what looks like a slim home button, there’s a front-facing camera, and a micro USB port on the bottom. From the back, the tablet looks very much like a giant iPhone 3GS with its glossy finish and rounded edges.

No word yet on pricing and specifications, and it looks like a post 2H 2011 launch is in the works, which means the two HP/Palm tablets will come to the 2011 tablet party a bit late, so lets hope HP will have put in some nice party tricks in the Topaz and Opal to duke it out with the likes of the iPad 2, Xoom and PlayBook tablets that will have already be in the market by then.

On top of that, since HP has presence here and Palm has long been extinct, can we expect a Palm revival here in Malaysia? More importantly, does anyone even care?

So earlier we reported that the next generation iPad and iPhone will come without the iconic home button that has come to identify both devices. We first classified this as a rumour but if you head over to after the jump and take a look at the quick iOS 4.3 walkthrough provided by CNET, a home button-less iPad and iPhone is looking to be something that could very well be real.

So how does one navigate through the OS without the home button? It’s all done through touch, multitouch gestures to be exact. How does this work exactly? All will be revealed after the break.

Another exciting feature that might come with iOS 4.3 is the 3G WiFi router. This much wanted feature was once the exclusive domain of jailbroken iPhones but has recently been made available on CDMA iPhones on the Verizon network in the US, and it could be making its way into GSM iPhones on the next iOS update. This is something we are definitely looking forward to.

This piece of news, though unconfirmed, is not much of a surprise to us considering the barrage of dual-core phones that will be in the market when the iPhone 4 replacement (now unofficially called the iPhone 5) make its debut sometime in the middle of this year.

No solid details are forthcoming as yet but to keep up with the likes of the Motorola Atrix, the Xoom and the LG Optimus 2X, just to name a few of the dual-core contenders looking to woo customers off the iPhone bandwagon, it would make a lot of sense for Apple to go dual-core with its latest version of the iPhone and iPad.

This is unless of course Apple thinks it can stay relevant churning out single-core devices in a market where dual-core is the buzzword. We don’t think this is the case. How about you?

Update (17012011 0255hrs): We’ve posted a video on how multitouch works without the need for a home button on the iPad. Take a look here.

Boy Genius Reports had revealed something interesting on the next generation of iPad and iPhone. They had a tip from their Apple sources that Apple will make a drastic move to remove the physical home button from the design. It was apparently mentioned earlier that Apple was looking forward to remove the button from the iPad design and that seems to be happening in the next release.

So how do users get back to the home view then? BGR was told that multitouch gestures will be coming their way to iPad in the next iOS 4.3 release which probably be the new way to navigate your way to the home screen. It is possible that a gesture of 4-5 fingers is needed to return back to the home screen.

We can’t wait to see how it is done ourselves and we could be seeing this pretty soon on the iPad 2 release.

The upcoming LG Star that’s rumoured to be running on dual core Tegra 2 is caught on camera again. This time it reveals more of its interface along with its benchmark numbers. It is also revealed that the LG Star has a HDMI port at the top as well.

Looking from the interface above, you can’t help but notice that LG uses a custom skin that’s a mixture of the familiar HTC Sense and Samsung’s TouchWiz. They probably think this offer the best of both worlds. No details on launch dates yet but we think this is going to be a serious contender in the sea of Android devices next year.

We have received a tip that LG Optimus One and LG Optimus 7 is coming to Malaysia real soon, in fact sometime next week. The LG Optimus One is an Android device that runs on Froyo which recently sold over a million units in just 40 days. The other device is the LG Optimus 7 which runs on Windows Phone 7. Word has it that the devices will be exclusive on Celcom, which has been very quiet lately with non-Blackberry devices.

It was also mentioned that Celcom together with LG is trying to push the launch as early as possible in order to beat rival Maxis’s similar announcement on a HTC device. The HTC device in question is most likely the HTC HD7 which is undergoing ROI with Maxis.

We have to stress that this piece of information is not confirmed yet. If its true, it will be an exciting face off next week between 2 telcos and 2 Windows Phone 7 devices.
