In the race towards building a smartphone with a fingerprint scanner embedded under the display, it appears that Chinese smartphone brand vivo may have beaten everyone to the punch with their upcoming Xplay 7 smartphone.
Qualcomm today announced their brand new entry-to-mid-level mobile processor, the Snapdragon 450, and it brings quite a significant set of improvements including a smaller 14nm FinFET process.
vivo has just showcased its new biometric feature which allows you to unlock your phone without the need of a physical fingerprint sensor. As phones are getting a higher screen to body ratio, vivo is showing that it’s possible to embed the fingerprint sensor underneath the display.
