It has been quite a while since we heard from U Mobile. Today, they have launched a promo on its IDD Services called IDD Bonanza.
While other telco players have been pushing hard on special rates for selected IDD country, it is obvious that U Mobile should join the bandwagon as well. At the moment, they are having promotion for 5 selected Asian countries namely China, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and India.

The promo rate of 0.7 per second is equivalent to 42 sen/minute for both fixed and mobile lines.

U Mobile’s running a limited time promo from 1 February to 31 March 2009.
The Talk All Day, All Night promo offers up to 60min of free calls per day from the hours of 7am to 7pm daily and SMS cost 1sen in this period. Calls made after that (during 7pm to 7am) gets a 50% discount and cost 0.4sen/sec (normal price 0.8sen/sec). SMS cost 4sen.
After the 60min are up, calls are charged 0.8sen/sec. For calls to other networks, it appears there’s no change in the rates.
Free calls only apply for calls made within the U Mobile network.

A reader pointed out HERE that Happy has revised its call rates for 2009.
The reader said:
After using Happy for almost a year, I’m extremely annoyed that they changed their rates suddenly on Jan 22, 2009, delusionally advertising them as “new happy deals”. What bullsh*t.
We couldn’t agree more and here are the details.
Happy hinted that the “no-frills” cheapskate mobile service provider was working on new rates.
Happy revealed the revised rates on January 22, and we’re pretty sure many were very disappointed with the crappy “Happier” rates.
