When Nokia N8 was launched, it only came in 3 colours: silver, green and dark grey. Now Maxis has updated their website with anodised blue and orange colour options as well. Contract price remains unchanged at RM999 over 24 months, RM1149 over 18 months and RM1299 over 12 months and it is for those who bolt on a data plan of 500MB, 1.5GB and 3GB.

Maxis has finally revealed its Nokia N8 bundling on their site. It goes for as low as RM999 over 24 months data contract on top of existing Value Plan 50 plans and above. If 24 months is too long, there’s a 18 months and 12 months option that offers the device for RM1149 and RM1299 respectively. Maxis data plans starts from RM58/month for 500MB and up to RM88/month for 3GB quota.
Nokia N8 is the current top of the range Symbian^3 device you could get at the moment with a retail price of RM1699. Running the latest Symbian^3 OS, this would be the game changer for Nokia to face off the likes of iPhones, Androids and most recently Windows Phone 7 devices.

The Nokia N8 has been given ifixit‘s signature teardown treatment. Watch how these guys tear down this anticipated device down to its bare components while they guide you through each parts and components installed.
They will show you how easy it is to open up the device with a T4 Torx screw, revealing a 1200mAh Nokia BL-4D battery which Nokia says is not recommended for user replacement. They also discovered that the AMOLED display is independent and not fused together. This should mean cheaper and easy replacement if you accidentally break the N8′s glass.

Malaysians anticipating for Nokia N8 will have to wait a little bit longer. Previously it was targetted to launch sometime end of this month or early October, but now the dateline is indicated to be pushed towards end of October.
It was reported that the Nokia N8 enjoyed a strong pre-order demand, and this could be the most desired Nokia model to date. According to official statement, Nokia acknowledges the demand had exceeded its expectations. To ensure “great user-experience”, they decided to hold shipment for the device for a few weeks to make some final amendments. Looks like they are making last minute bug fix or refinements before it hits the market. Hope it is worth the wait.

This are the first unboxing videos for the Nokia N8 and what’s different about them is that they are all officially produced by Nokia to highlight some of the features of the N8.
Another key difference of these N8 unboxing videos from Nokia? They are deliciously interactive, You get to choose three characters with three decidedly different personalities. We can’t confirm this but Ryan sounds like a Malaysian (or a Singaporean, depending on which side of the causeway you’re reading this blog from). He appears to be a geek that remembers all the model numbers of all the accessories that comes with the N8, it all looks a bit too try hard for us. But see for yourself and tell us what you think.
Interestingly, the maximum resolution in all the unboxing and it’s related videos is 720p. Does this mean that the videos are shot exclusively using the Nokia N8? Nokia’s very confident of the imaging performance of the N8 so it’s not inconceivable to think so considering that Nokia has commissioned a prominent director to shoot a short film using only the Nokia N8 and starring Pamela Anderson along with Ed Westwick.
Another interesting point to note, the Nokia N8 comes with a stylus though the videos states that this will be available in selected markets. We’re wondering if Malaysia will get it.
Check out the videos after the jump. A pretty decent effort from Nokia we think but we’d like more detail in our hands-on videos. We really like the soundtrack though.

The Nokia N8 is slated to be launched in Malaysia early October, and undoubtedly, there will be a whole lot of Nokia fans out there who wants to know as much as they can about the device.
Well, we’ve got a couple hours with the Nokia N8 recently and you can read about our first impression of the device here. In addition to that, we’ve also got a hand-on video showcasing some of the highlights of the device.
This will give you a better idea of how responsive the new Symbian S^3 is and also give you a good picture about what the Nokia N8 can do.
Video is after the jump. Enjoy! Looking forward to your comments.

You’ve already probably know this by now, the 12MP camera on the Nokia N8 is probably one of the best cameras attached to a phone anyone has ever seen.
On top of doing a sterling job as a camera, the Nokia N8 comes complete with a video and picture editing app allowing users to cobble together a decent montage directly on the device.
In this video demo, you’ll that editing pictures and videos is fairly straight forward but if given the choice, we’ll do out post-production work on a computer thank you very much.
In any case, so confident of the capabilities of the camera on the Nokia N8 that Nokia is getting the McHenry Brothers to shoot a short film starring Pamela Anderson and Ed Westwick using only the Nokia N8.
The shorty will feature Ms. Anderson in a bedroom scene. That, we got to see!

In our first impressions post about the Nokia N8, we mentioned that with it’s HDMI out and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound capabilities, the device makes for a great media player.
You can fill up the N8 with a couple of movies or a full season of Gossip Girls and hook it up to a home theater system for a very impressive home cinematic experience. We got first hand experience of this during the Nokia N8 preview, and although the video after the jump doesn’t accurate convey what the Nokia N8 is capable of in this respect, it does give you an impression of what it can do.
Head on after the jump to check out the video.

You’ve seen first hand what the 12MP camera on the Nokia N8 can do and most are blown away by its imaging performance.
Not content with merely stating that the performance of the camera on the N8 is better than dedicated point and shoot cameras, Nokia has enlisted the Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl and Pamela Anderson to star in a short movie that will be filmed entirely using the Nokia N8.
The short film dubbed The Commuter will also feature two lucky fans who will star alongside Ms. Anderson in a bedroom scene (of course) and Mr. Westwick in an elevator scene.
Alas, this opportunity is only opened to hopefuls in the UK.
The Commuter will be directed by the McHenry Brothers, who have just finished filming their first full-length animated movie, Jackboots on Whitehall, starring Ewan McGregor and Rosamund Pike. A part from little is known about the storyline and script of this short film.
Shooting begins in London on the September 20.
