The Nokia Lumia 610 which is priced at RM699 is now available on Maxis from as low as RM149. The lowest price tag of RM149 is tied with 24 months contract of bolt-on 3GB data plan on postpaid.
Apart from the usual bundling of any postpaid plan (Value First onwards) with bolt-on data, the Nokia Lumia 610 can be tied in with the new Value Plus Internet plans. For the bolt-on data option, you get a choice of 12, 18 and 24 months contract while Value Plus Internet bundling gets only 12 and 24 months option.
The Lumia 610 runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Tango variant, which is designed for devices with lower specs. In terms of specs, it runs on a 800MHz Qualcomm processor, 256MB RAM and with 8GB of storage. It has a decent 3.7″ WXGA display that pushes 800×480 resolution, comes with a 5MP camera and a 1,300mAh battery.

The Nokia Lumia 610 is now available in Malaysia for RM699. It is already on sale at several Nokia Stores and comes in 4 striking colours – white, cyan, magenta & black. This makes it affordable for anyone to experience Windows Phone, especially youths or mobile users that are upgrading from good old feature phones.
In our rather brief hands on, the Lumia 610 offers a rather smooth experience similar to its expensive siblings. In fact, we felt that the overall build of the Lumia 610 is much more premium than the Lumia 710 and it comes with a nice metallic frame around the screen.
To recap on the specs, it runs on a lower 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM with 8GB of internal storage. At the front, it has a 3.7″ WVGA display and powering the device is a 1,300mAh battery. Over at the back, it has a 5MP shooter with assisted LED flash. It is also worth pointing out that the Lumia 610 also comes with a dedicated camera button.

The Nokia Lumia 610 will be available in Asia beginning with the Philippines in the last week of April. For the rest of us in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and China will be getting it several weeks after.
To recap, the Nokia Lumia 610 is an entry level Windows Phone which comes with an affordable price tag about RM600-800. It runs on a lower 800MHz processor, 256MB, 8GB of storage and a 3.7″ WVGA screen. In terms of OS, it runs on a Windows Phone 7.5 Tango which is optimised to run with lower hardware specification. At a lower price point, the Lumia 610 is expected to accelerate Windows Phone adoption especially with the youth segment.
