There’s a lot of speculation in the air as to what Nokia will unveil at MWC. The teaser video they released yesterday suggests a device with a really high definition camera is on the cards but what exactly is the Nokia trying to tell us?
Greek tech blog Pestaola see the video in a different perspective and postulates that the video is actually a highly detailed picture, possibly one taken using this mysterious Nokia device. So essentially the video we saw were panning shots of a really impressive still image. It’s an interesting spin and it is definitely one that we can agree with. Just look at the screen grabs for yourself, the case is very compelling
So what can we expect from Nokia? Well, possible the best camera on a smartphone to date, also possibly one that can produce pictures with quality comparable to that of a DSLR. Ok, maybe the latter is wishful thinking but even so, if the teaser video is what the Greek blogger says it is, Nokia can just shut up and take our money – unless of course the device runs Symbian, which we hope it won’t.
This just released teaser video from Nokia offers up a compelling clue as to what the Finnish manufacturer has in store at Mobile World Congress next week.
The video, titled “Get ready to capture a pure view” and consisting of very detailed close up views of a snowy landscape, suggests that Nokia will reveal a device that promises amazing imaging capabilities. We’re inclined to believe that it hints of a new range of Nokia devices carrying the “Pure” branding as well.
It’s also very possible that the video was shot using the very device that Nokia is hinting and seeing that there is a 1080p version, one can certainly deduce that this upcoming device will also be Nokia’s first ever 1080p-capable shooter.
We’ve heard rumours that Nokia is working on an epic camera smartphone to succeed the Nokia N8. This mystery device is also rumoured to be Nokia’s last Symbian phone, will we see such a device at MWC? To know for sure, we’ll have to wait till February 27. And in all honestly, we’d prefer it to run Windows Phone instead.
Nokia N8 fans can rejoice because apparently Nokia is working on a successor and it will be fitted with one of the largest camera sensor – if not the largest camera sensor – ever seen on a mobile phone. This is if the trusted source that tech blog BGR says provided them with the information, is to be believed.
The possible epic camera phone from Nokia – rumoured to be called the Nokia 803 – will also be the company’s last Symbian device. The 803 will run the latest Symbian Belle OS (we would prefer Windows Phone instead) and feature a 4-inch AMOLED ClearBlack Display, an HDMI-out port, micro SIM support and NFC as well. The expected release date for the Nokia 803 will be sometime in May but at the moment, nothing is official.
Could the Nokia 803 be making a debut at MWC? If the May timeline is true, then a MWC appearance is certainly possible. Well, we’re just a couple of weeks away to finding out.
Head on to after the jump to see how the Nokia 803 might look like.
