When you step in the shoes that were once filled by Bill Gates, you better hope that you fulfill your role. Steve Ballmer unfortunately took upon the intimidating task and his reign lasted a good 13 years. A robust character, Ballmer excelled in his early days but by 2012 stock prices were idling too long and that ensued criticism of dropping everything that he had managed to achieve. Many have speculated that the failure of Surface RT tablet was the last straw for Microsoft’s overseeing board of directors, with a US$ 900 million write off being a mistake that couldn’t go unnoticed.
Two years after Ballmer’s retirement, Satya Nadella has filled some big shoes and it has been an upward journey so far. Akin to Ballmer, the Surface Pro 4 sits in a precarious position as it has never been easy living up to your past successes.

Redmond’s finest have banked on their Lumia 950 models to save the day for the Nokia name. Revealed on the 23rd of September and automatically available for those who are subscribed to Office 365, Microsoft Office 2016 is finally available in physical retail form in Malaysia. In conjunction with the productivity software launch, the Asia Pacific division of the Redmond natives carried out a survey to gauge how working professionals in 10 countries adapt to their work-life.
Microsoft had been tinkering with the idea of a tablet PC since the early days of Windows XP. The first one I’ve played with was the Compaq TC1000 which essentially is a laptop with a rotatable touch screen display. It was heavy, impractical and the form factor wasn’t what you would consider as an ultra portable device.
Most recently they have finally nailed it with its Surface line up and the latest Surface Pro 3 was introduced with the bold claim of being a tablet that could replace your laptop. Starting from RM2,729 excluding the keyboard, the Surface Pro 3 is on the high side, especially when you can get a decent spec laptop for less. So if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, here comes the Microsoft Surface 3 that’s priced from under RM2,000. Not only it is cheaper but it is also the thinnest and lightest Surface yet.
