DiGi now offers 3 more Android devices on DG Smart Plan which all runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. They are the LG Optimus One, CSL Droidpad Mi700 and Huawei Ideos U8150.
The LG Optimus One which retails at RM899 is going for RM549 over 12 months or RM299 over 24 months contract with DG Smart Plan which gives a substantial savings of RM600. If you’re looking for an affordable tablet, the 7″ CSL Droidpad Mi700 fits the bill as it is offered at RM1049 over 12 months or as low as RM799 over 24 months contract. The Droidpad originally retails at RM1599. Last but not least, the already affordable Huawei Ideos U8150 is offered at RM399 over 12 months or as low as RM149 over 24 months contract.
More details on the offers at DiGi Smart Plan page.

In conjunction with Valentine’s day Maxis is offering up a special promotion for the Huawei IDEOS U8150 Android phone.
Purchase a Huawei IDEOS U8150 (RM299 promo price with 24 months 3GB data plan) and sign-up for any Maxis Value Plus plan and subscribe to the Maxis 3GB data add-on plan for 24 months and you’ll get another IDEOS U8150 for free.
The catch is with the free phone, you will also have to sign-up for a Maxis Value Plus plan with a 3GB data add-on subscription for 24 months.
Our take on the offer. If you’re going to use that data, sure why not, but if you’re just signing up to get the free phone, it’s a case of short term gain, long term lost. Up to you.
The Maxis Valentine’s Day promo ends on February 15.

Maxis has thrown another Android tablet in the mix with the Huawei Ideos S7 tablet which is a notch lower than the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Outright, the Huawei Ideos S7 goes for RM1599 but on contract, it goes for RM999 over 12 months or RM899 over 24 months. To be on contract, you would need to bolt on either a 500MB, 1.5GB or a 3.0GB on top of a Value Plus plan 50 and above.

Spec wise, the Huawei Ideos S7 comes with a 7″ screen that does a modest 800×480 resolution with 262K colours and it runs on Android 2.1. It supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and HSDPA up to 7.2Mbps. Other details such as processor and storage were not shown on their website. We will update as soon as we can get them.

UPDATE: Maxis clarifies via twitter that HTC Desire Z gets 2 year warranty.
As mentioned earlier, the HTC Desire Z is now available on Maxis starting from today. The Desire Z which was announced together with the Desire HD retails at RM2299.
On the bundled pricing, the Desire Z goes for RM1649 over 12 months, RM1599 over 18 months or RM1499 over 24 months contract of a bolt-on data plan on top of Value Plus postpaid plan. The Desire Z is covered with a 2 year warranty as confirmed by Maxis via twitter. Interestingly the Desire Z comes only with a 12 months warranty which is less compared to the older HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire that had 24 months warranty.
Also making an apperance is the rugged Motorola Defy which was just launched in Malaysia 2 days ago. In case you missed it, do read our Motorola Defy first impressions. On contract, it goes RM1299 over 12 months, RM1149 over 18 months and RM999 over 24 months duration.

At the same time, Maxis also has started bundling entry level Androids which includes the Huawei Ideos U8150 and Samsung Galaxy 3. The Huawei Ideos with RRP RM899 goes for an affordable RM449 over 12 months, RM399 over 18 months and a bargain basement RM299 over 24 months contract. For the Samsung Galaxy 3 which goes for RM1099 outright is offered on contract at RM649 over 12 months, RM549 over 18 months and RM449 over 24 months. The Galaxy 3 too was offered recently by DiGi with contracted price from as low as RM349.
