The HTC Incredible S which has just been launched this morning has made an appearance on DiGi’s website. As mentioned earlier, the HTC Incredible S is priced at RM1999 outright with DiGi subsidising up to RM800 with DG Smart Plan Contract.

While we are waiting for the official announcement by DiGi, they had instead started a round of Registration of Interest (ROI) of the device. Not sure what’s the point since the price is known but if you’re eyeing for an Incredible S on DiGi, they will inform you once it is available at their stores.

To register, head over to DiGi’s ROI page here.

Update: Added pictures and videos from the event as well as press pictures and press release.

HTC has introduced another Android device, the HTC Incredible S today which carries the price tag of RM1,999. DiGi is currently the only telco that’s offering the device with DG Smart Plan.

On contract, DiGi is offering RM550 subsidy for 1 year contract and RM800 for 2 years, making the device priced at RM1449 and RM1199 respectively. If you’re an existing contracted DG Smart Plan customer, unfortunately there’s no upgrade or contract extension plans at the moment. HTC Malaysia has also mentioned that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Incredible S will be coming in June.

More updates coming soon! Pictures and videos from the launch plus press release and press pictures of the HTC Incredible S right after the jump.

In terms of availability, the HTC Incredible S will be exclusively available from DiGi from next week onwards. Non-contract availability of the device will be at the end of April.

HTC Incredible S coming to Malaysia this Friday

Posted:  March 15, 2011   By: ccsoya   1 comment

For those of you waiting for the latest HTC device to come to Malaysia, now is the time to rejoice. HTC Malaysia has just issued a media invite to the launch of the HTC Incredible S — one of the newer HTC devices to hit the local market.

The HTC Incredible S launch is pegged for this Friday, March 18. We’ll be there to give you the latest updates and details.

Top line spec of the HTC Incredible S include a 1GHz processor (sorry no dual-core) with a massive 768MB or RAM and 1.1GB of internal storage. In terms of imaging there are two cameras on the Incredible S. One is an 8MP rear-facing unit with auto-focus and dual-LED flash and 720p video recording capability. The other is a 1.3MP front-facing unit for video calls on top of picture taking and video recording. Wrapping it all up is a 4-inch Super LCD touchscreen (480×800 pixels). The Incredible S runs Android 2.2 (Froyo)

Other than that, everything else is what you’d expect from a contemporary smart phone with Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi all included.

Ahead of the official Malaysia launch, not much details have been revealed but a tie-up with a telco (most probably Maxis) is not out of the question. In terms of pricing, we have no real indication but we’re expecting the Incredible S to retail around RM2,500 outright.

And that’s about it, stay tuned for our Friday updates at the launch.

In the meantime, head on over to after the jump for a promo video on the Incredible S.

Yahoo has just released a trio of official apps for the Android OS. If you use Yahoo a lot and have an Android powered phone you can now look forward to using the official Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Messenger and Yahoo Search Widget apps on your device. Though the search widget is only available for download in the US.

Yahoo says that its Android app have been optimized for Motorola Droid/Milestone, HTC Incredible and the Google Nexus One. You’ll have to be running Android 2.0 to be able to use the app. So if you’re the dude with the G1, sorry man.

Both the Yahoo Mail and Messenger apps support almost all the features that you’re familiar with including rich text formatting, emoticons, and access to your Address Book.

In addition, Yahoo has also updated its Yahoo app for the iPhone, now with HTML5 support.

If reading is not for you, head on over to after the jump for the video news report. Also, a full list of features supported by the Android Yahoo apps plus the QR codes for you to download the app on your Android phone.
