HTC is doing a promo at PC Fair which is happening at Melaka International Trade Centre starting tomorrow, 3 – 5 June 2011. Among the devices on promotion are the latest models such as HTC Sensation, HTC Flyer and the recently announced HTC Wildfire S.
Although the prices for the latest models remained as per RRP, HTC is throwing a couple of extras. For the Flyer, they are giving out free screen protector, 16GB microSD memory card and a 4800mAh Battery bank. The HTC Incredible comes with a 4800mAh Battery bank while the Wildfire S is bundled with car kit. Other models are bundled with free gifts too so view the full size image above for the details.
Surprisingly the original HTC Wildfire is only RM100 cheaper than the latest model but they have thrown a 16GB microSD, screen protector and casing to make it more appealing.

Get ready for massive around KL over the weekend, PC Fair is back! And as always you can expect some deals and promos from the many device manufacture and distributors in Malaysia.
HTC is no different putting out revised pricing for its range of devices and throwing in a free spa voucher worth RM1,390 as well as a 1+1 year warranty for all devices.
You’re looking at:
RM2,099 for HTC Desire HD
RM1,699 for HTC 7 Mozart
RM1,599 for HTC Desire
RM1,399 for HTC Aria and
RM999 for HTC Wildfire
In all honesty, the revised prices are not that great considering the vintage of these device and that LG Optimus 2X is just RM1,899 outright and our current Android favourite, the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc with its Exmor R 8.1MP camera and Bravia Engine 4.0 Reality Display is the same price as the Desire HD outright, but if you’ve always been a fan of these HTC devices that are on offer, PC Fair weekend would be a good time to hunt for a great bargain.

Browsing full websites on mobile devices can be a pain and that’s where Opera reigns supreme as a mobile web browser. Available across multiple platforms including entry level java supported devices, Opera does a nifty job in rendering full websites for small screen and compressing them small enough for speedy and cheaper usage.
This week they have released new versions of the browsers, Opera Mini 6 and Opera Mobile 11 that comes with several new features. The first noticeable difference is opening new tabs is done in the background without interrupting the page you’re viewing. Of course, this is subject to one’s preferences.
Scrolling through pages is noticably smoother than the previous version. Another neat trick is if you wanted to scroll all the way to the top or the bottom, just make a big swipe towards the direction you want and hit the big arrow button when it appears. The new release also comes with a prominent Share button which in the Android version shares the URL across your sharable apps like Facebook, Twitter, Email, SMS and etc.
For those who still doesn’t know the difference between Mini and Mobile, Opera Mini is a compact browser which renders web pages on Opera’s compression servers before loading up on your phone. This is perfect for prepaid users that are cost conscious as web pages are compressed small enough for small screen viewing. Opera Mobile however is a full fledged browser which renders on your device, but if you need compression it is also readily available by enabling Opera Turbo under settings.
To download, visit m.opera.com on your default mobile browser. Full details of Opera Mini/Mobile here.
If you’re a DiGi customer, they are doing a special promo for Opera Mini where downloads at m.opera.com is free of charge. You’ll also stand a chance to grab 1MB free Data for prepaid customers and win a HTC Mozart for sharing. More details on the DiGi Opera Mini offer here.
Check out the demo video after the break.

After the 6 months, you will be charged RM63/month. The additional discounted rebates according to the T&C still apply. THis means if you plan to get 100% discount, you only need to spend RM22 on your voice calls, instead of the usual RM62.

Maxis is doing another round of festive promos on devices with more discounts on selected phones. This promo however is tied with a 24 months contract with either a 3GB data plan or BIS Pro plan that comes with 3GB.
So what’s interesting on the offer? The Nokia N8 is now RM788 (usual RM999 with 24 months contract) while the Motorola Defy is now offered at RM888 (usual: RM999). The HTC Desire Z also sees a reduction to RM1388 (usual: RM1449).
BlackBerries are reduced with a slight reduction on its older Curve 8520 and Bold 9700 but the Torch is further reduced to RM1288 from its previous 24 months contract price of RM1399.
On the Windows Phone 7 line up, the HTC 7 Mozart is now offered at a much lower RM1188 (usual RM1499) while the larger HTC HD7 is offered at RM1388 (usual RM1699).

To sweeten the deal for Samsung Galaxy Tab, Maxis is offering an outright price of RM1999 (original RRP: RM2699) with any purchase of a Value Plus Plan and data plan. As comparison, the Galaxy Tab is offered on contract at RM1749 over 24 months and RM1849 over 12 months.

The HTC 7 Mozart which runs on Windows Phone 7 is now being offered on Maxis. Similar to its HTC HD7 bundle, it comes with an option of 12 months or 24 months contract with a bolt-on data plan.
The HTC 7 Mozart is priced at RM2099 outright but on contract, it goes for RM1499 over 12 months or RM1299 over 24 months. To be on contract, you have to pick between a 1.5GB data plan at RM78/month or 3GB data plan at RM88/month which is bolted on a Maxis Value Plus postpaid plan 50 and above. There is also additional rebate of RM10 for each data plan on this contract.

Compared to the HD7 offer, the 7 Mozart is slightly cheaper with a smaller 3.7″ screen vs HD7′s 4.3″ but it has a 8MP Camera and SRS WOW HD virtual surround feature. However the HTC 7 Mozart comes with 12 months warranty as opposed to the HD7′s 24 months warranty as shown above.
Earlier on DiGi too has started offering the HTC 7 Mozart. As comparison, DiGi offers the device at RM1499 over 12 months and RM1249 over 24 months.

DiGi has added a couple more devices ahead of Christmas with 2 Android devices from Samsung and finally a Windows Phone 7. The devices come bundled with DG Smart Plan contract with monthly subscription of RM68/month. Now they are giving extra RM5 off if you opt for auto-billing which brings it down to RM63/month.
For the Samsung Galaxy S which goes for RM2599, DiGi is offering it for RM1799 over 12 months and RM1499 over 24 months subscription. As comparison, Maxis offers it for RM1699 over 12 months and RM1099 over 24 months with its usual Value Plus and bolt on data plan.

For those who want something more affordable, there’s the Samsung Galaxy 3 which is a entry level Android which runs on a 677MHz processor with Android 2.1 OS. It has a 3.2″ screen that does 240×400 pixels. It does look similar to the Galaxy 5 but this looks like a notch higher with its bigger screen and support for larger expandable memory. The Galaxy 3 goes for RM1099 outright. On contract it can be yours for RM599 over 12 months or RM349 over 24 months.

The next device comes as a surprise as finally DiGi offers a Windows Phone 7 with the HTC 7 Mozart. Outright this Windows device goes for RM2099 and on contract it is priced at RM1499 over 12 months and RM1249 over 24 months contract. However stock is not available right now and there’s no mention when it will be restocked.
