Samsung now has a total of 6 different tablets since the launch of the original Galaxy Tab. Just recently, we have seen 2 smaller sized tablets the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus and Galaxy 7.7, both running dual-core processors and the latest Android 3.2 honeycomb OS.
The table above illustrates the different hardware, physical dimensions and weight of each model. Knowing each of them are different, which one would you go for?
Update: Official RRP pricing for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range

Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi: RM1,499
Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G: RM1,699
Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi: RM1,299
Galaxy Tab 7.7: TBA
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus (3G+WiFi): RM1,699

Early last week Indonesia became the first country in Asia (possibly the world) to start selling the Honeycomb tablet that a lot of people are waiting for — the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. The introduction of Samsung’s latest tablet received tremendous response in the republic when it sold out in just seven hours.
Oddly enough after a strong lead-up to the launch of the device in Indonesia, only 1,200 units were available for purchase on day one. The rapid sale of the device was also spurred on by hefty introductory discounts offered by Samsung in conjunction with the launch.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 retails for Rp.6 million (or about RM2,110 at today’s rates) but was sold at Rp.4 million (about RM1,400) on the first day. In addition to that, the price of the first 200 units sold on launch day was reduced by another Rp.200,000 (about RM70).
News reports mentioned that approximately 4,000 customers waited in line, some overnight, to be amongst the first in Indonesia to purchase the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
For Samsung, the initial launch of a major product — in this case, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 — outside of the US and Korea is unprecedented. In Malaysia, we have word that the device will be officially launched towards the end of July. Though we have no information on local pricing, the Indonesian price could be a very good indicator to how much the device will sell here.
While the Galaxy Tab 10.1 may not be the first Honeycomb tablet to hit the local market, it is certainly the most anticipated. Even with the Motorola Xoom and the very competitively priced Asus Eee Pad Transformer both already selling here, many, based on the comments we’re been getting, are still holding onto their cash for the Samsung tablet.

While we await the announcement of a 3rd Galaxy Tab, here’s a very lengthy hands-on video of the Samsung Galaxy Tab II. The 10.1″ tablet runs on the latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS and powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor.
So how is it like to live with a Android tablet? Here’s a video that demonstrates its day to day features of a Galaxy Tab II. Watch the 12 minutes video after the break.

Android Central is at MWC Barcelona right now and they had a quick hands on of the new 10″ Samsung Galaxy Tab II that’s running on the latest Android Honeycomb OS.
At 10″, this certainly looks more practical to use especially with the screen supporting resolution of 1280×800. With no surprises, it runs on a dual-core 1Ghz processor and comes with 2 cameras. The front does 2MP while the rear has a 8MP camera that supports 1080p recording.
Dimension wise, the Galaxy Tab II is 246.2mm x 170.4mm with a thickness of 10.9mm. It weights 599 grams which is obviously heavier than the previous Samsung Galaxy Tab but it still lighter than the iPad of 680g (WiFi version). Over at the sides, there are speakers at both ends, a dedicated power button, a SIM slot, volume rocker, 3.5mm audio jack and built-in microphone. At the back it is covered with a matte texture that comes with a big shinny Samsung badge on the centre. The 8MP camera is position at the top centre of the device which we think its perfect landscape shots.

Unfortunately the wifi connectivity was quite bad during the recording and they can’t really demo the browser and maps. Check out the video after the jump.
We’re just five hours away from the Samsung Unpacked event where the Korean manufacturer is expected to unveil the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab II. Officially Samsung is still tight-lipped on the the details but they are not short on teaser videos. Here’s another one that they’ve just released ahead of the event.
No clues of upcoming devices or anything of that sort. Just footages of Samsung pre-event activities to hype up the Samsung Unpacked event.

The cat’s pretty much out of the bag. The replacements for the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy Tab are official and here are the first pictures right from the Samsung Unpacked event floor.
The specs of the Galaxy S II remains the same, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera with full 1080p video and an ultra thin 8.49mm chassis. The Galaxy S II will come in two variants with 16GB and 32GB on board storage.
Accompanying the Galaxy S II will be the Galaxy Tab II. The new Galaxy Tab goes up in size from 7-inch to 10.1-inch display with 1280×800 pixel resolution. The Galaxy Tab II will run Honeycomb have an 8MP camera with full 1080p HD video recording and playback and dual surround sound speakers.
There’s a lot to like with Samsung’s new lineup of it flagship Android devices. Question now, is when are these two coming to Malaysia?
A few pictures of the two devices for your viewing after the jump.

The Gorilla Glass is a neat protection that adds robustness for any device. The Dell Streak has it and so does the Galaxy S and the Tab.
Previously we’ve seen a Korean video torturing the Galaxy S with various sharp objects. Now there’s another test, this time for the Tab which involves a air powered weapon. To demonstrate the impact of the air pistol, the first video shows a demo on a Coke Glass which obviously breaks upon impact, following by the 2nd video which is then tested on the Tab itself.
Watch the videos after the jump. Please do not try this on your Galaxy Tab.

Yes the picture is real and not photoshoped, and yes the button says “Porn” but no, it won’t take you to a secret porn online market.
The Porn that the button is referring is actually a short form to the Romanian word for start — which is Pornire.
The Porn button is actually an unintentional mistake of the UI translators on the Galaxy Tab. Funny.
