DiGi is going on a BlackBerry discount rampage after revealing its BlackBerry Bold 9900, Curve 9360 and Torch 9810 offers.
On 24 months contract of DG Smart Plan 68, the Torch 9800 is offered at RM979, while the Bold 9780 at RM879 and Curve 9300 at RM379. Outright, the 3 are offered at RM1600, RM1312 and RM876 respectively. If BlackBerry devices are not your thing, DiGi is also offering the HTC Desire HD at RM729 and LG Optimus One at RM179 on contract. The prices above are applicable if you sign up through their online store with full details here.

Apart from that, those that buy the latest BlackBerry (Bold 9900, Torch 9810 & Curve 9360) on contract from 10th October till 10th December will stand a chance to win another BlackBerry. They are giving 30x Curve 9300, 20x Bold 9780 and 10x Torch 9800 with one given out daily. For more info on the FREE BlackBerry offer, head over here.

DiGi is giving a special offer when you can buy 3 BlackBerry devices for the price of 2. The offer which runs from now until 31st August 2011 is applicable for BlackBerry Torch 9800, BlackBerry Bold 9780 and BlackBerry Curve 9300.
2 of the device must be tied with a DG Smart Plan for 24 months and it can be registered under 2 different names. This promo is only available at DiGi Retail Centres located at SohoKL and Bangsar, which makes it out of reach for those outside the Klang Valley.
There’s also another catch with the offer. The Free 3rd BlackBerry unit is not covered with warranty as written in their FAQ:
Q6. Is there a warranty for my free BlackBerry® device?
A6. As per usual procedure, phones that are free-of-charge will not carry a warranty.
For more info, head to DiGi’s BlackBerry Promo page.

To celebrate the opening of its Seberang Jaya and 1 Borneo retail centres DiGi is offering free BlackBerrys with purchase of a BlackBerry Bold 9700 or a HTC Aria.
Specifically if you purchase a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with a 24 months contract, you’ll get another 9700 for free. On the same offer, if you purchase a HTC Aria with a 24 months contract you’ll get a BlackBerry Curve 8520 for free.
The promo material is very vague about the offer but our DiGi source tells us that the promo is very limited to 13 customers for both outlets combined at each outlet with the following breakdown:

UPDATED: Added DiGi BlackBerry Prepaid activation shortcodes from DiGi’s promo page.
DiGi has introduced a new microsite dedicated for their current BlackBerry plans. The WhatBerry site has a little Facebook integrated app which tells you what type of BlackBerry user you are.

From the plans shown on the site, DiGi offers the usual DG Smart Plan for RM68/month which now charges additional RM10/month extra for BIS service. Now there’s a new Smart Plan LITE RM33/month plan which is cheaper but offers a rather little 300MB/month.

For prepaid, there’s the usual RM2/day Unlimited prepaid Blackberry plan but now there are other smaller packages to suit specific needs. For those who specifically use BlackBerry for IM and Social Networking, there’s the Prepaid Social Network + IM RM1/day package which gives you unlimited BBM as well as access to facebook/twitter. If social networking is not your thing, there’s also a Prepaid Email + IM RM1/day package too. If neither suits you and all you need is the barebones BBM service, there’s the 50sen/day Prepaid BBM only package just like what’s being offered by Xpax.
For more information on DiGi’s BlackBerry offer, head to http://whatberry.com.my. You can also check out our previous posts on Prepaid Blackberry plans.

DiGi introduces a prepaid blackberry service at RM2/day which gives not only unlimited BIS for IM but also to surf the web. As comparison, XpaX offers RM1/day for unlimited BIS (Instant Messaging) and RM2.50/day if you wish to include web browsing service. Maxis through its Hotlink brand only offers a weekly package of RM28/week.
The RM2/day package however is capped at 100MB per day which will be throttle down to 128kbps if you exceed the limit. If you plan to tether, DiGi was mentioned in their FAQ that it will be charged separately for max RM5 per day as it uses a different APN (diginet). The same goes for streaming content as well due to diginet being used instead of Blackberry.net.
To activate this, just SMS ON BB FD to 2000. This will activate automatic daily subscription and if you plan to stop, you’ll need to SMS STOP BB to 2000.
