Fans of the Force, you can now pimp your iPhones in the most awesome Star Wars swag this side of the galaxy far, far away. These cases are as authentic as phone cases can be — the C3PO case is every bit just as shiny as the droid it mimics and the Chewbacca case has fur!
If you’re interested in getting one — or all — the cases are available on Amazon and is available for the iPhones 4, 4S, and 5, in used and new condition, from over 30 vendors. We tried ordering a Chewbacca case from the seller “Amazon.com”, and found that on top of the USD 27 for the case, the 2-to-4-day shipping charge to Malaysia was USD 31, bringing the total to about RM175. Not bad and probably worth it considering how easily scratched the iPhone 5 can be.
Just in “case” you’re thinking of buying one of these, remember to check that you order the right size!
The Egg Sleeve is a 4G MiFi that takes a form factor of a battery pack for the iPhone 4. So now instead of carrying two separate devices (iPhone and MiFi), you can power your iPhone 4 with 4G connectivity in a sleek piggyback sleeve form factor.
We’re not sure if the Egg Sleeve is also a battery but it does come with a 1500mAh battery to give you 5 hours of 4G connectivity bliss. Overall the sleeve adds 68g of heft and just over 17mm of bulk (in terms of thickness) to the iPhone 4. Negligible considering the how much faster things load up on 4G.
The KT Egg Sleeve retails for KRW128,000 which about RM350 at today’s exchange rate. For around that price we can definitely consider something like this mating with our iPhone 4 (provided of course the 4G network performance is up to par).
So we’re putting out to P1 and Yes this challenge. The product people from both operator know that this is a bloody good idea. Jadi, tunggu apa lagi? Which among Malaysia’s two top 4G operator is going to bring this innovation to Malaysia?
Portable speakers are great for sharing music and other sounds from you iDevice but the thing is most are not terribly practical when your on the move. Enter the Tembo Trunks.
These virtually indestructible, specially designed rubber cones amplify the sound coming out from the standard iDevice earbuds up to 80dB and doesn’t require any external power source. Ingeniously simple.
The guys behind the Tembo Trunks idea are currently looking for funding on Kickstarter to get their project of the ground. They’ve already exceeded their minimum goal of US$10k and are closer to US$20k now. If you want to get your hands on a Tembo Trunk, the minimum pledge of one is US$40.
In the meantime, head on over to after the jump for a concept video of the Tembo Trunks.
The standard headphones that come with your mobile device is just lame. What you need is this — the Stetheadphone. It’s a pair of headphones that looks just like a stethoscope. It even comes with a remote and mic so you can attend to calls and access voice-control features without ever needing to pull out your iPhone.
How cool is that?
Well ok, maybe if you’re wearing it to pretend to be a doctor then not so much, but the novelty of the idea is pretty neat.
In any case, even if you wanted to get one of these pretend medical instruments, you can’t. The designers of the Stetheadphones are still looking for a partner to produce this concept accessory. They better hurry though, because once enterprising people of China get a whiff of this, get ready for the knockoffs to come rolling in.
In the meantime head on over to after the jump if you want to take a look at a few more pictures of the Stetheadphones.
