HTC Sensation XE and HTC Radar coming to Malaysia next week

Posted:  October 7, 2011   By: ccsoya   6 comments

IMCC has just broke the news, the HTC Radar and the Sensation XE are coming to Malaysia and they are coming next week!

The Sensation XE will retail for RM1,999 and the HTC Radar will be selling for RM1,399.

These are two ground breaking devices from HTC. The Sensation XE will be the first Beats Audio phone to hit the country and the Radar will be the first Mango phone in Malaysia.

Sensation XE brings with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM, 1,730mAh battery, a 4.3-inch Super LCD Gorilla Glass display pushing 540×960 pixel resolution and an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording. The Sensation XE will also be bundled with a set of iBeats headphones (which HTC are calling upbeats) in the box. The headphones are designed to make the most out of the Beats Audio technology integrated in the device — not bad considering the RM1,999 asking price.

The HTC Radar brings 3.8-inch 800×480 pixel Super LCD display. Featuring a a single piece metal construction, the Radar packs a 1GHz single core processor with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You also get a 5MP rear camera with a fast F2.2 lens and a BSI Sensor for low light photography. The camera shoots 720p HD video. Powering the device is a 1520mAh Lithium Ion Battery. At RM1,399 is slightly expensive when compared to similar specced devices like the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray for example.

We expect Samsung to also release a deluge of device to counter what HTC is doing. Look out for the latest on SoyaCincau.com

What did we tell you about an exciting final quarter?

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio

Posted:  September 14, 2011   By: soyacincau   8 comments

Update: The Sensation XE is expected to retail for EU589 or about RM2,480. Ouch! (Thanks @samchoo for the headsup)

HTC has officially revealed the HTC Sensation XE which is a result of their partnership with Beats Electronics, the maker of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

The Sensation XE is not just a mere music rebranded HTC Sensation as it comes with 1.5GHz dual core processor and larger 1,730mAh battery. It will also be bundled with either 8GB or 16GB of microSD storage depending on markets.

The screen still uses a 4.3″ Super LCD with qHD resolution. There’s a 8MP camera at the back and a VGA camera at the front. RAM is still similar at 768MB.

When paired with its special set of Beats by Dr. Dre in-ear headphones, it will automatically switch to a custom “Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile” for optimal experience.

No pricing details and market availability are known at the moment. Head after the break for more pics.

More information on the Sensation XE over at HTC.

HTC buys controlling state of Beats Electronics

Posted:  August 11, 2011   By: ccsoya   2 comments

Notch up a gabillion cool points for HTC. The Taiwan device manufacturer has just announced that it will buy a 51% stake in Beats Electronics for a cool US$309 million.

If you don’t already know, Beats Electronics founded by Jimmy Iovene and rapper extraordinaire Dr Dre makes high-end headphones and speakers. You’d probably seen the Beats cans around sporting the stylized lowercase “b” logo worn by teens and old folks alike.

The acquisition will give birth a line of HTC devices that will prominently feature the Beats brand and technologies in its hardware. HTC says HTC-Beats phones will debut in time for the holiday season.

In the mobile device turf war, HTC’s move to acquire and integrate a critically-acclaimed brand like Beats into its product lineup will definitively set the Taiwan brand apart from its competitors. When the HTC-Beats phone hit stores later this year, you can expect drones of Beats fans coming out to grab it.
