Oh boy. Acer threw down the gauntlet in 2016 when they snatched the crown of world’s thinnest laptop right out of HP’s hands. The original Swift 7 was a stunning 9.98mm thick, making it the first laptop to take things below 1cm. It’s been two years since then and nobody’s been able to beat Acer’s accomplishment.
Left without a contender, Acer decided to take things a step further and outdo themselves. Here’s the world’s thinnest laptop 2.0.
Then, Acer took things up a notch (wait, I guess they took it down a notch) when they released the Swift 7 — the new ‘world’s thinnest laptop” and the first to bring a laptop’s thickness down below 1cm. But all that thinness comes with a price. RM4,999 to be precise. Yowza.
The world’s thinnest laptop, the Acer Swift 7, could be heading our way very soon as we just received an invite from Acer Malaysia to a launch event that’s taking place next month! The title? “So thin, it’s unbelievable”. I mean, what else could it be?
Acer has also unveiled its brand new Swift series of notebooks which focuses on portability. The Acer Swift 7 is their top of the line model and it’s currently the thinnest laptop at only 9.98mm while weighing just 1.1kg. This is the first laptop to go under 1cm thick. As a comparison, the already crazy thin HP Spectre 13 has a thickness of 10.4mm and it weighs 1.16kg.
