In the past, fast-charging was something you could only find on flagship smartphones. Unless you’re on iPhone, but even Apple’s caught up there too. The beauty of technology is that as time goes on, these “flagship features” start trickling down to the smartphone range.
As more people gain access to handsets that have fast-charging, the demand for fast-charging grows and that’s where third-party accessory makers like Aukey and Anker thrive — what with all the recommendations from popular YouTubers.
Then there’s Tronsmart, which is a brand that doesn’t really get as much coverage as the others do. But, in my experience they make some solid products.

Apple is pretty renown for their product ads. They strike a balance between telling you enough and showing you the rest. What’s more, while their ads often exaggerate the capabilities of their devices (and the situations you might find yourself using these devices) most of the message is grounded by some form of truth.
This ad, for the latest AirPods however, is not an Apple ad. Though, it is probably more accurate than most people are willing to admit.

I love instant noodles. When I was much younger, instant noodles were a breakfast treat and the mornings where I got to have a packet were the only mornings I would wake up early. The thing is, in the past, I only ever had Cintan’s Perisa Asli noodles and I never thought of trying the other flavours because Perisa Asli was already so good. That was until I tried one of the super spicy kari berapi type noodles. One slurp and I was hooked, I could never go back to good ol’ Perisa Asli.
In a way, this is the same case for me and USB cables. I’ve always only used the USB cables that came out of the box because I figured they’d work the best with their device. I never thought I’d need anything else.
Well, that was until I got my hands on the gold-coated Winnergear MicFlip Fully Reversible MicroUSB cable. A mouthful, but this is essentially the kari berapi of USB cables and it’s awesome.
If you were on the fence about purchasing Apple‘s new Smart Keyboard for your iPad Pro, then perhaps Logitech can help you with that. Designed in collaboration with Apple under Logitech’s CREATE banner, comes the Logi CREATE Backlit Keyboard Case with Smart Connector.
Another little perk is that it makes your iPad Pro look like a MacBook.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was recently upgraded to the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat. However the new software had caused 3rd party non-Samsung S-View covers to stop working. Initially this was seen as an attempt to force owners to buy original accessories but this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Samsung apparently has issued the following statement to Ars Technica:
We have currently identified a software compatibility issue with the Galaxy Note 3 update to Android 4.4 (KitKat) and select 3rd party accessories. A software update will be available shortly. We are committed to offering a diverse and reliable mobile experience for all customers, providing continued support and solutions for any issues that arise with product updates for both Samsung manufactured and third-party accessories.
So if you’ve updated to the latest KitKat and your accessories doesn’t work, don’t ditch them yet. Hopefully with the new update, the S-View functionality will return with existing 3rd party cases. So far Samsung hasn’t mentioned when they are rolling out the update but it should be happening pretty soon.
A couple of Malaysian users that have updated their Galaxy Note 3 to KitKat had complained of instability issues. If that’s happening to you, one remedy is to back up your data and perform a full factory reset. You can share your experience and feedback of the new software update here.

Sony Malaysia has revealed the recommended retail prices for its SmartWatch 2 and the SBH52 Bluetooth Headset. Listed on the Sony Malaysia website, the silicone strap (which is interchangeable) SmartWatch 2 sells for RM780 while the more premium metal strap version is priced at RM850, the SBH52 Bluetooth headset is priced at RM480. The accessories are available right now from the online Sony Store.
With a 1.6-inch Transflective display and an IP57 ingress protection rating, the SmartWatch 2 is an improvement of Sony’s previous smartwatches bringing a host of new features like easy one-touch NFC pairing for compatible devices, remote shutter activation which allows you to operate the camera on your smartphone remotely. You can also get email, text and Twitter alerts delivered to the smartwatch. However with just 220×176 pixels text and icons are going to appear pixelate but at least unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Gear, you won’t have to worry about device compatibility with the SmartWatch 2 as it works with almost all Android devices running 4.0 and above.
The SBH52 is a Bluetooth headset with a twist. In addition to being able to plug in any standard set of headphones the device can be used like a mini handset as well. The headset is immensely useful and easy to setup thanks to one-touch NFC pairing and with a built-in OLED display, you can screen calls without the need to take your phone out of your bag, purse or pocket. We like the SBH52, it has a nice understated design and if anyone knows how to make Bluetooth headsets it’s definitely Sony.

Fans of the Force, you can now pimp your iPhones in the most awesome Star Wars swag this side of the galaxy far, far away. These cases are as authentic as phone cases can be — the C3PO case is every bit just as shiny as the droid it mimics and the Chewbacca case has fur!
If you’re interested in getting one — or all — the cases are available on Amazon and is available for the iPhones 4, 4S, and 5, in used and new condition, from over 30 vendors. We tried ordering a Chewbacca case from the seller “Amazon.com”, and found that on top of the USD 27 for the case, the 2-to-4-day shipping charge to Malaysia was USD 31, bringing the total to about RM175. Not bad and probably worth it considering how easily scratched the iPhone 5 can be.
Just in “case” you’re thinking of buying one of these, remember to check that you order the right size!
The Sony SmartWatch is now available in Malaysia through an exclusive deal on Groupon. Priced at RM399, there’s no discount and if we are to believe the description, this is the only way to buy it right now.
The SmartWatch acts as a secondary screen for your Android smart phone where you can check who’s calling, text messages, social updates and even control your music. Not only does it support the latest Xperia S, it also supports previous Xperias including Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X8.
According to the full specs, it is also somewhat compatible with non-Sony Android phones such as HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, Motorola Defy, Samsung Galaxy S II and Motorola RAZR.
The SmartWatch comes with a black colour watchband and each order comes with a Sony T-Shirt. If you’re interested, head over to Groupon.
Check out the promo video of the Sony SmartWatch after the break.
First up, we have the Xperia SmartTags. The Xperia SmartTags is a novel approach towards propagating NFC technology. The tags are essentially NFC chips designed in a shape of round tokens that you can purchase and place at various places in your home, car or office. With the programmable tags you can launch pre-set actions just with a simple tap, best of all, the tags work with any NFC-enabled phone. Check out the video above for a clearer explanation.
Next, we have the Smart Wireless Headset pro stereo Bluetooth headset that features an LCD display that can show text messages, incoming calls info and calendar notifications just to name a few. In addition to being a Bluetooth headset, the Smart Wireless Headset Pro can function as a standalone MP3 player and radio as well.
Finally, we have the SmartWatch Bluetooth micro display. The SmartWatch features a square 1.3-inch 128×128 pixel OLED touchscreen display. The SmartWatch acts as secondary display for your smartphone, allowing you to discretely access text messages, social media updates and manage calls or music from the display without the need to reach for your device. The display can mounted on a strap and can be worn as a watch and comes with a vibration function, accelerometer and is both dust and splash proof.
No pricing or availability detail has been announced. We’re really interested in the SmartTags and SmartWatch, so we’re expecting these accessories along with the Bluetooth headset to be available at the Asia launch of the Xperia S happening later today. Keep your browser locked on to SoyaCincau.com and follow us on Twitter for live updates from the event.
