The Redmi 5A is Xiaomi Malaysia’s most affordable smartphone and it was launched with a low price tag of RM399. If you’re looking for a bargain, it is now available for as low as RM339. That’s RM60 off its original price.

To recap, the Redmi 5A is an update to their previous Redmi 4A. It gets a decent 5″ HD 720p display and it runs on a Snapdragon 425 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. Storage expansion is available and it has its own dedicated slot, so you can pop a microSD card with two nano-SIM cards at the same time.

The Redmi 5A also gets a 13MP f/2.2 main camera with PDAF, a front-facing 5MP f/2.0 shooter and a 3,000mAh battery which Xiaomi says can last up to 7 hours of video playback. Connectivity-wise, it supports 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G LTE in both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE bands. There’s no fingerprint sensor but you do get an infrared blaster at the top. Out of the box, it runs on MIUI 7.0 with Android 7.1 out of the box.

The Redmi 5A at RM339 is available in either Gold and Grey. This is offered via its official Mi Store on Lazada Malaysia. Standard shipping is free and express next day delivery is available for RM7. According to Mi Malaysia, this RM339 offer is only valid on 3 January 2018.
