Apart from ordering online, the iPhone X will be available in-stores for walk-in customers beginning 3 November. While the iPhone 8 release was pretty quiet, it is expected that more people would be queuing up for the iPhone X. In fact, Apple encourages its customers to arrive early if they plan to get it in-stores.

As usual, Malaysia is not among the first wave of countries to receive the latest iPhone model. Apple has revealed the official iPhone X price for Malaysia which starts from RM5,149. That’s RM1,000 extra on top of its equivalent iPhone 8 Plus model.

If you plan to get one, your best bet is to get it from Singapore and you might want to act fast. The iPhone X is said to be released in limited quantities due to production issues. Apparently, the setbacks were caused by defects with the iPhone X’s OLED panel during the bonding process. On top of that, it was also reported that Apple had issues with components that handle their new Face ID feature.

For this year, Apple is reported to be shipping 20 million units of the iPhone X, which is half of its original plan. With the current situation, we might probably need to wait even longer before the iPhone X is released officially in Malaysia. Over in Singapore, the iPhone X is priced at S$1,648 (about RM5,123) for 64GB and S$1,888 (about RM5,869) for 256GB.

Apart from having a 5.8″ Super Retina AMOLED screen, the iPhone X also gets a better dual 12MP camera set up that come with dual-OIS. Since the screen stretches from edge to edge, they have removed its Touch ID completely. To unlock without pin codes, Apple introduces Face ID which comes with an additional depth-sensing camera. Like the iPhone 8/8 Plus, it has 64GB and 256GB storage options but it comes in just two colours – Silver or Black.

Are you waiting for the iPhone X? Or would you settle for the iPhone 8 Plus instead? Let us know in the comments below.
