Shortly after Apple showed off their new space-gray Magic Keyboard, Microsoft‘s flexing their keyboard muscles with the release of their brand new keyboard. It’s called the Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID and I think you already know what its standout feature is.

Yep, it has a “hidden” fingerprint scanner built-in to a physical key next to the Alt key. This fingerprint scanner is designed to work with Windows Hello so you can access even your desktop with a simple touch. Microsoft went with a fairly minimalistic design for the keyboard that looks pretty much identical to the Surface Keyboard that debuted with the Surface Studio awhile back.

Modern Keyboard is now up on the Microsoft Store but availability is listed as coming soon. It’s not cheap, though, as Microsoft is charging USD129,99 for it. That translates to about RM555 in today’s exchange rate. For that kind of money, you can get a really good mechanical keyboard so the Modern Keyboard’s value really lies in its fingerprint scanner.

If you could, would you buy it?
