Xiaomi powerbanks are always a hit. Its current 10,400mAh version that’s sold at RM49 is the defacto bang of the buck champion for those needing extra juice on the go. At 250grams, it is thick and bulky but now they have released a newer version which is more pocket friendly.
Following its new super slim 5,000mAh model, its mid-range 10,400mAh power bank has gone on a diet and now they have introduced a 10,000mAh version that’s both smaller and lighter.
Weighing at 207 grams, it is 43 grams lighter and they have reduced its width by 20% to just 60.4mm. Thickness wise shouldn’t be much of a difference as the new 10,000mAh is 22mm thick, which is slightly more than its predecessor at 21.6mm. This is quite remarkable as they have managed to pack about the same capacity as before.
You also get the same build quality with a metal clad body and it has the same charging chips from Texas Instruments and US Power Systems for greater peace of mind. In terms of output, it still pushes the same 2.1Amps from a single USB port as before. To check for its status, it also retains the single power/check button with its 4 LED status lights. Another noticable difference is the plcement of its microUSB input and full size USB port which is now placed in the middle, similar to its previous 5,200mAh power bank.
