UPDATE: DirectD is now selling the LG Watch Urbane at RM1,299.

The beautiful LG Watch Urbane went on sale internationally last week and DirectD is now making it available in Malaysia. Being an imported set, the LG Urbane Watch is priced at RM1,599, which is about the same price as the Apple Watch Sport which we’ve gotten recently.

It runs on Android Wear and it looks stylish with a round display that mimics a mechanical watch. At the front, it gets a clear 1.3″ P-OLED display that does 320×320 pixels resolution and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage.

You can take the LG Watch Urbane almost anywhere as it gets IP67 rated water and dust resistance as standard which allows you to submerge it up to 1 metre deep below 30 minutes. Keeping the lights on is a 410mAh capacity battery. For a more personalised look, the LG Watch Urbane accepts any compatible 22mm bands and by default, it comes with a leather strap out of the box.

There’s also a LG Watch Urbane LTE which isn’t coming to Malaysia. That comes with 1GB of RAM and a larger 700mAh capacity battery. Unlike the standard Urbane, the LTE variant runs on LG’s proprietary wearable platform that’s based on WebOS. Unfortunately the SIM is embedded and we are told that it would be sold only through participating telcos that offer it. Design wise, the LTE version looks more chunky and it gets additional 2 buttons compared to the standard version.

In terms of colours, the Watch Urbane from DirectD is available in classic silver or pink gold, which looks closer to bronze in real life. If you’re interested, you can head over to DirectD’s Watch Urbane page. For those on Android that wish to stand out, this is probably the better alternative to the Apple Watch. You can check out our hands-on with both Watch Urbane and Urbane LTE over here.
