Since the HTC One M9+ isn’t really a phablet device despite its “plus” size monicker, they could be bringing another device into our market. Also launched at the same time as the One M9+ in China, the HTC One E9+ with a larger 5.5″ Quad HD display is said to be making its way to Malaysia, although actual details of its availability and pricing are yet to be confirmed.

Build quality wise, it has a durable metal frame with a similar looking front as the One M9+ but the back gets a matte plastic surface instead. Internally it is somewhat similar with the HTC One M9+ with a MediaTek MT6795M Octa-Core processor but it is a notch down with just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. There’s also a microSD slot accepting up to 128GB. For taking pictures, it gets a 20MP main camera and for selfies, it is handled by a 4MP ultrapixel unit. The battery is expected to be similar at 2,840mAh as its other One M9 siblings. It also features HTC’s signature Boom Sound speakers but it lacks a fingerprint scanner that’s found on the M9+.

If this is priced a few hundred ringgit cheaper than the One M9+, would you get this instead? So far this plans are not 100% confirmed yet but if they do come, this is probably the worthy replacement of the HTC One Max phablet. You can check out the full Chinese specs over here.
