Xiaomi is finally bringing a 4G smart phone into Malaysia with the introduction of the Redmi Note 4G. It is officially priced at RM589, which is RM80 more than its dual-SIM 3G version which has been discontinued. In terms of availability, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed any dates yet but we are told from today’s exclusive service centre launch that it will be going on sale sometime next month in December.

Spec-wise, it is pretty much the same as the previous Redmi Note with a 5.5″ HD 720p display but underneath, it runs on Qualcomm’s 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor that’s mated with 2GB of RAM and has 8GB of storage. There’s an expandable microSD slot, a 13MP main camera and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. The battery is a 3,100mAh capacity unit which is likely to give you more than a day’s worth of usage thanks to its frugal Snapdragon 400 processor.

Singapore has also gotten the Redmi Note 4G too and they are offering 5,000 units tomorrow for S$229 (about RM592). If you’re waiting for the Mi 4, looks like we’ve got to wait a little longer as they have yet to sell it outside of China.

For more information, you can check out the Redmi 4G Note product page.
