If you are an Amazon user and read a lot of books while on the go, they had recently announced their first smart phone called the Fire Phone. If you want to own one in Malaysia, local retailer IPMart is now accepting pre-orders for the device at a hefty RM2,499.

Running on a Fire OS 3.5 (based on Android), the Fire Phone boasts 3D perspective technology with 4 front facing cameras, a Firefly mode where you can search for anything visually or through audio recording and it is backed up with an impressive May Day customer service. In the US, the Fire Phone is priced at US$199 with a 2 year AT&T contract and US$649 (about RM2,073) outright. In terms of specs, it gets a 4.7″ HD 720p IPS display, a Quad-Core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The rear gets a 13MP Camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) and the device is powered with a 2,400mAh capacity battery. You can read up more features in our earlier Fire Phone post over here.

Thanks Tino for the heads up.

Check out the Fire Phone intro video after the break.
