The Pebble remains one of our favourite smart watch with its lightweight design, great outdoor visibility and long battery life. While the original pebble may look cheap with its plasticky design, now Pebble is going premium with its latest Pebble Steel.
Following the success of the original Pebble, they have taken a step further with the use of Marine Grade stainless steel and comes with both metal & leather straps. The front glass is now protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with anti finger print coating. Over at the sides, the buttons are metal as well and it is also charged with a magnetic charging cable which works similar to the original smart watch. For colours, it comes with a choice of Brushed Stainless Steel & Matte Black.
Design wise, the Pebble Steel is thinner than the original pebble and yet it packs the same excellent 5-7 days battery life. Just like the original Pebble, it is also water resistant rated at 5ATM and supports both Android and iOS platforms. Another nice touch is a tri-colour LED light which appears on the bottom left of the watch. Apart from displaying charging status, the LED light will be opened up to developers as well for expanded application possibilities.
In terms of price, the Pebble Steel is going for $249 (Approximately RM818), which is $100 more than the first generation Pebble. If you plan to get your hands on one, you can order it now on their website. World-wide Shipping starts at the end of this month which is free via DHL.
