Acer is still active in the smart phone game and they have just announced the Liquid Z5, an entry level smart phone that comes with a 5″ display and dual-SIM support. Powering the device is a dual-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage which can be expanded with microSD. Over at the front, the 5″ display pushes 854×480 pixels resolution which is about 195ppi.

In terms of imaging, the Liquid Z5 comes with a 5MP main shooter and a front facing VGA camera. For better pictures, the main camera comes with 5-elements f/2.4 lens and a sensor with 1.4 micron pixel size. On-board the Liquid Z5 packs a rather generous 2,000mAh battery and overall it weighs 147 grams with a respectable thickness of 8.8mm. Out of the box, it runs on an older Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

It is announced to be rolled out in selected European markets for 169 Euros (approximately RM750) beginning mid-January. Colour wise, it is available in either Essential White and Gentle Grey colour and so far they haven’t released any details on world-wide availability.

Acer isn’t just working on entry to mid level phones as they have a high-end devices in their line up as well. Hopefully they would bring in their Liquid S2 which offers 6″ Full HD display and powered by a more uprated 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.

More images of the Liquid Z5 after the break.
