Nokia Teases Its Next Big Thing and It Looks Amazing

Posted:  February 22, 2012   By: ccsoya   1 comment

This just released teaser video from Nokia offers up a compelling clue as to what the Finnish manufacturer has in store at Mobile World Congress next week.

The video, titled “Get ready to capture a pure view” and consisting of very detailed close up views of a snowy landscape, suggests that Nokia will reveal a device that promises amazing imaging capabilities. We’re inclined to believe that it hints of a new range of Nokia devices carrying the “Pure” branding as well.

It’s also very possible that the video was shot using the very device that Nokia is hinting and seeing that there is a 1080p version, one can certainly deduce that this upcoming device will also be Nokia’s first ever 1080p-capable shooter.

We’ve heard rumours that Nokia is working on an epic camera smartphone to succeed the Nokia N8. This mystery device is also rumoured to be Nokia’s last Symbian phone, will we see such a device at MWC? To know for sure, we’ll have to wait till February 27. And in all honestly, we’d prefer it to run Windows Phone instead.

Posted:  February 22, 2012   By: soyacincau   3 comments

The LG Optimus Vu will be appearing at MWC 2012 next week which is expected to go head on with the Samsung Galaxy Note. While the 5″ display with an odd 4:3 aspect ratio does raise eyebrows, the short hands-on video above does seem to show some practicality when its in landscape mode.

Powered by a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor and boasting a slim profile of just 8.5mm, the Optimus Vu is seen as a serious contender in the phone-tablet segment. More official photos of the Optimus Vu after the break.

Posted:  February 22, 2012   By: soyacincau   No comments

LG has announced the Optimus 3D Max, the sequel for its Optimus 3D Android smart phone which comes with couple of new enhancements. While maintaining its glasses-free 4.3″ 3D screen that pushes 800×480 pixels, the Optimus 3D Max now runs on a dual-core 1.2GHz OMAP 4430 processor. It has 1GB of RAM and comes with 8GB of internal storage.

New on the device is the inclusion of NFC and the introduction of LG’s Tag+ which lets you switch profiles by tapping. You can also expect a tiny bit more life as the capacity is bumped from 1,500mAh in the previous 3D to 1,520mAh in the 3D Max. In terms of 3D shooting, it still comes with dual 5MP cameras and there’s a front facing VGA camera as well.

At time of announcement, the Optimus 3D Max runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

U Mobile Hints Possibility of Nokia Lumia 800 Plans

Posted:  February 22, 2012   By: ccsoya   No comments

When an operator talks about a device on its official social media sites, you can pretty much bet that the operator will offer plans for the device. That’s what U Mobile is doing with the Nokia Lumia 800.

We noticed that U Mobile has been talking a lot about the Nokia Lumia 800 on its official Twitter account and that’s an almost certain sign that the operator will be offering plans for the device very soon.

In terms of pricing, while we don’t expect a great deal of difference in the subsidised pricing of the device itself compared to what other operators offering, you can expect U Mobile to offer its trademark high data quota plans at rates lower than industry standard
