Here it is boys and girls, the most detailed pictures of Sony Ericsson‘s upcoming flagship smartphone ever released to the public.
The official name for the Sony Ericsson Nozomi (aka Xperia arc HD) is still not yet known but some specs have been revealed along with the pictures.
The Nozomi will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread — yes, Gingerbread and NOT Ice Cream Sandwich. It will feature a 4.3-inch LCD display with 720p resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). There’s also apparently a whopping 12 megapixel camera with full 1080p HD video recording. You also get a HDMI out to push those 1080p video easily to your HDTV. The device will powered by a dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM to keep things smooth.
Unfortunately the Nozomi omits a micro SD card expansion slot. You do however get the option of 16GB or 32GB versions.
Other things worth noting from the detailed pictures is that the device looks to using a micro SIM and the battery appears non-user-removable despite having a removable back plate.
No launch date has been revealed but expect the new Sony Ericsson to make an appearance at CES 2012 in January 10 to 13.
So, does this Sony Ericsson tickle your fancy?
More pictures after the jump.

is the part below the see through plastic for what purpose? just for the design sake? if does.. it just made the phone bigger… there r ppl does not like big phones. btw i like the screen but i like the arc more.. where is SE's design. n why micro SIM and why no battery
the white slot is what…? i'm thinking the battery… =.=
cannot take out the battery…
Xperia Arc S looks better
looks like anti-glare screen.
also, buttons at the back of the phone below battery cover? (‘Menu’, ‘Home’ and ‘Return’)
u can see the button from behind because those parts r transparent with led lights
yea i like my arc more.
been waited for this, but bit disappointing..
Wish they had these specs but in the xperia Arc shell and call it the Arc S 2. This is such a boring design. or no design.
my first impression is disappointment as well.
1. gingerbread? what the farc is this? SE makes us wait till april (likely) next year for a gingerbread phone?
2. the design is a huge step backwards, after the arc. big disappointment here.
3. non user removable battery? the standard battery better pack plenty of juice then. and what am i supposed to do now when the phone freezes?
the camera better be awesome, like AWESOME, or else there's nothing much for me to like about this phone. and i've been faithfully holding onto my arc while waiting for this. so disappointed.
material seems to look like cheap plastic…
Arc looks better.
btw, already have screen protector for this model!! haha.. (can be seen in the 2nd last pic)
