Update: Slight revision on the pricing as we got the conversions mixed up. We used conversation rates based on Euros when the price is actually in Pounds (Thanks to Ramesh for pointing this out). Based on the right currency, we have a clearer picture of how much the devices would cost when they come to Malaysia. Considering that smartphone prices in UK is generally more expensive than they are here, you can expect that the Motorola RAZR and Galaxy Nexus to be priced fairly close to our RM2,200 estimate.
European online retailer Clove Technologies are now taking pre-orders for both the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Motorola RAZR. What’s interesting about this is that with the pre-orders, Clove have also released the outright pricing for the two devices.
The Motorola RAZR is expected to retail for £379 or about RM1,622 RM1,855, while the The Galaxy Nexus is expected to go on sale for £429 or about RM1,834 RM2,100.
Both these prices are well below our estimates which still stands at around the RM2,200 or below range for the two devices. As the Samsung Galaxy SII and the HTC Sensation XE are selling for RM1,899 and RM1,999 respectively, we don’t think that the RAZR and Galaxy Nexus will match the European pricing when the devices come to Malaysia, but hey, the cheaper the better.
If these two devices do get sold here for below RM2,000, that’s going to be amazing.
Now im going to have a hard time choosing. Altho to be honest, i believe both will be in the region of 1899 to 2099.
UK has higher taxes so <$2000 may be possible. The screen should be jaw dropping gorgeous and ICS looks delicious and functionality wise, superior to IOS.
What alarms me however is some reports that Android ICS still suffers from the stability, stutter and lag that is prevalent in Android as compared to other modern phone OSs. It can be seen in the leaked videos also.
If the release version is not improved, it's with utter regret that I will have to join the iSheeps and get an iphone because this issue really bugs me on my SGS1/Gingerbread. On average, I still need to remove my battery from my phone once a month to be able to reboot which is ridiculous.
For a starting price of >RM2000 I would go for iPhone 4S, no question.
Both seems to be really nice but I prefer Galaxy Nexus.
Anyway, by the time I have the cash for a new phone, there will be other choices.
Folks, if the price is not much different, advice go for the nexus since you will always get the updated OS first.
i'll still wait for an xperia Duo!!
I wouldn't recommend a Nexus to an Android first-timer. However, all hardcore android lovers will eventually want a Nexus. That's the charm of the Nexus series of phones.
Any dealers bringing in the Galaxy Nexus, please I beg you don't make it expensive. *big round pearly anime eyes*
RAZR permanent battery placement is a big downer..everything else is just top notch
when can i get samsung galaxy nexus at malaysia?
if less then RM 1000 i think many peoples would buy it including me
These.are officially on.my wishlist.next year…^_^
