UPDATE: Word has it that the product launch event was postponed due to Steve Jobs recent passing. “We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing,” the spokesperson said. “We do not have information on the rescheduling of the event.”. ( SOURCE )
With less than 5 days away till Samsung Unpacked event, Google and Samsung has announced that they will postpone the launch of their upcoming device, the Galaxy Nexus.
They didn’t explain the reasons behind the last minute postponement but had released the following statement:
“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.”
There are couple of speculations over the move with one of it being Steve Jobs recent passing. Another possibility are issues on either device or software that needs to be ironed out before launch. Despite not giving any new launch dates, we hope the delay is a short one.
If you missed it earlier, the Galaxy Nexus was revealed in video which gives a clear view of the upcoming device and Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Update: More drool inducing stuff. Now we’ve got a 1min 30sec video of the Google Galaxy Nexus running on Ice Cream Sandwich. Watch after the jump.
Boom! Here it is, the first real look at the Google Galaxy Nexus (aka Nexus Prime) and oh boy does it look good! We seriously can’t wait for this bad boy to come to Malaysia.
Actual specs on the device is still up in the air with the processor (1.2GHz dual-core vs 1.5Ghz dual-core), camera (5MP vs 8MP) and battery (1,750mAh vs 2,050) being strong argument points at the moment.
What do you think?
In any case, we’ll be doing live commentaries when the Galaxy Nexus breaks cover at the Samsung Unpacked in San Diego on October 12, Wednesday at 0230hrs Malaysian time.

IMCC has just broke the news, the HTC Radar and the Sensation XE are coming to Malaysia and they are coming next week!
The Sensation XE will retail for RM1,999 and the HTC Radar will be selling for RM1,399.
These are two ground breaking devices from HTC. The Sensation XE will be the first Beats Audio phone to hit the country and the Radar will be the first Mango phone in Malaysia.
Sensation XE brings with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM, 1,730mAh battery, a 4.3-inch Super LCD Gorilla Glass display pushing 540×960 pixel resolution and an 8MP rear camera with 1080p video recording. The Sensation XE will also be bundled with a set of iBeats headphones (which HTC are calling upbeats) in the box. The headphones are designed to make the most out of the Beats Audio technology integrated in the device — not bad considering the RM1,999 asking price.
The HTC Radar brings 3.8-inch 800×480 pixel Super LCD display. Featuring a a single piece metal construction, the Radar packs a 1GHz single core processor with 512MB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You also get a 5MP rear camera with a fast F2.2 lens and a BSI Sensor for low light photography. The camera shoots 720p HD video. Powering the device is a 1520mAh Lithium Ion Battery. At RM1,399 is slightly expensive when compared to similar specced devices like the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray for example.
We expect Samsung to also release a deluge of device to counter what HTC is doing. Look out for the latest on SoyaCincau.com
What did we tell you about an exciting final quarter?

After the earlier teaser, Celcom has finally revealed the Nokia N9 plans.
On the Nokia N9 page, the device is offered as low as RM968 with 18 months contract of Celcom Exec 250 which comes with 5GB of data. The lowest entry plan is Celcom Exec 50 + Mobile Internet Basic of RM38/month that offers the device for RM1,348 on 18 months contract.

In addition to the offer, Celcom is also offering several units for RM999 for those that registered with them. The offer read “Be the first to own it and flaunt it. Register with us before 15th October”. The conditions wasn’t clearly stated and under the T&C, it shows packages are tied with 12 months contract of BlackBerry plans. So no idea currently on what plan/contract period is tied to this RM999 offer. Great work Celcom on your fantastic website!
UPDATE: Celcom has updated the T&C, mentioning that it is tied to Celcom Exec 50 + mobile internet or Celcom Exec 250 Plan (“Package Plan”) for a period of twelve (12) months. How this works is that from 7th till 15th October, Celcom will draw a lucky winner which will get the N9 at only RM999 which is tied with a shorter period.
As N9 official sales starts today, it appears that Celcom is only selling it on 15th October onwards based on the RM999 promo page. So if you are looking to own a N9 on contract, DiGi is the only choice now.
To register your chance to get the N9 for RM999, sign up here. For the full plan details, head over to their N9 page.

The Nokia N9 is available in Malaysia today with the retail price of RM1,799 for the 16GB version.
It is now available for bundling with DiGi from as low as RM1,199 with 24 months contract with Smart Plan 68. For those looking for lower commitment, it is also bundled on Smart Plan 48 from RM1,349. While Nokia N9 is available in both 16GB and 64GB options, it seems that only 16GB is offered for bundling.

HTC is probably the most prolific smartphone manufacturer in the world. Right after its big APAC event announcing the HTC Radar, Rhyme, Sensation XE and Explorer in Singapore yesterday, the Taiwanese tech giant today announced the HTC Sensation XL.

The Sensation XL runs Android Gingerbread with Sense 3.5.
Like the Sensation XE, the Sensation XL will come bundled with a set of iBeats headphones (which HTC are calling upbeats) in the box. The headphones are designed to make the most out of the Beats Audio technology integrated in the device. The Nexus Prime is probably the most anticipated Android device right now. As the shape and design of the device have been all but revealed, focus now turns to its specifications. Ahead of its launch, BGR revealed the full specifications of the device once codenamed Nexus Prime. Here’s the low down on the device that will officially be called the Samsung Galaxy Nexus:
BGR says that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be a pure Google Experience device which means there will be no third-party UI skins or modifications. So TouchWhiz fans, you’re not getting any on the new Google phone. It’s cool that the Galaxy Nexus will be getting Ice Cream sandwich but we’re pretty bummed that its running a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor instead of the 1.5Ghz Exynos unit rumoured earlier. We were really looking forward to an 8MP camera as well. In any case, as you know, numbers only tell one side of the story. How the hardware performs in real-life is another thing altogether.
We’ll be giving live commentaries during the Samsung Unpacked event happening in San Diego on October 12, Wednesday at 0230hrs Malaysian time. The Samsung Galaxy Prime is set to be revealed then, so stay tuned.
