Last week, there was a news of an exploding Motorola Droid 2 which caught a lot of attention worldwide. It was reported that the owner had ended a phone call which resulted a loud pop and started bleeding from the ear. The interesting part was that the phone was still working fine while the “victim” had to receive 4 stitches on the ear.
Now there’s a new update where an internal Motorola staff had refute such explosive claims. It was said that the Droid 2 was very likely to be dropped and had its screen cracked. The owner didn’t notice the broken glass and proceed to press it against his ear which resulted the injury on his ear.
The Motorola staff also added that the only things that could explode on the Droid 2 would have resulted in a phone that won’t work at all but yet it still works. There was no sign of explosive damage inside where its internals get blown outwards. However they still couldn’t explain the loud “POP” which was reported by the owner. What do you think? Hardware deffect or sensationalised claims by owner?
if it is explosion, i think that poor fellow loss his ear and his phone and in worst case scenario, maybe brain damage. the "pop" sound properly he imagined out, or may due to injury of his ear.
I think the idiot just wants to get some money for free and is hamming the whole thing up.
Just like the lady who purposely dropped a steaming hot cup of McDonald's coffee onto her lap, sued and got a million bucks.
Good luck idiot. Next time cut your whole ear off.
