Update: UniFi and Streamyx isolated outage — service restored

Posted:  December 10, 2010   By:    8 comments

38 hours after the outage affecting 2,000 Streamyx and UniFi subscribers in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Puchong, USJ, Lapangan Terbang Subang, Shah Alam, Selat Klang Utara and Bukit Kemuning was detected, TM has issued a statement saying that the issue has been resolved and all affected subscribers are able to connect to the Internet.

The statement made available online informs that its UniFi and Streamyx services have been restored as of 0300hrs on Friday, 10 December 2010 and TM is currently monitoring the situation for any eventuality.

The statement however did not indicate if the affected subs will be compensated in any way. We have sent a question to TM on the same yesterday but have yet to receive a response. We will keep you updated if there is a response from TM on this.

In the meantime, can users in the affected areas verify that service has been fully restored?

Yup, up and running since last night 730pm.
Have call into the Unifi helpline and they have submit a rebate request to billing department.
According to them, Billing department will give me a call and proceed with the rebate.

Hey thanks for the update. So we're assuming it will be a one-day rebate?

I try to pursuit at least 2-3 day rebate. No one have call me yet from billing department. Gonna give them a call now.

      Lol…develop country my foot…

c'mon, how hard is it for them to look up their subscribers in the affected areas and simply automatically reimburse them 38 hours internet charges or give them 48 hours FREE access???

It just takes some common sense, some customer service where the customer is made to feel IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE and an ability to see past the end of their nose.

Imagine the goodwill they would generate to make up for some lousy outage. Instead, some dipshit manager with little or no customer service brain thinks upper management only cares about the bottom line! With an angry customer base they will soon see their bottom line shrinking.

I just simply don't understand how companies in Malaysia do business.

Because there is no competition. period.
That why our mobile space service quality is quite good but cable is shit.

No. Interenet line still down at Puchong Utama except VOIP & IPTV.

I live in the Valencia/Sierramas area and while I can connect to the the Internet, routing is still shit. Can't even connect to Gmail!
